Drop off and Pick up procedures
- Students are not to be on campus or dropped off before 7:47 am. (Gates will not open until 7:47 am.)
- Adults are to stay in vehicles. (The only exception would be if you needed to buckle or unbuckle a student in a car seat.)
- Have students exit on the passenger side only
- When dropping off/picking up you must go through the drop off line. Don’t park off to the side of the street or in a parking space and have your child walk to or from your car.
- Pull up to the furthest Drop off/Pick up Zone.
- There are 2 drop off and pick up locations (See table below for the drop off location of the classroom teacher.)
- If there are multiple siblings they will be dropped off at the location of the youngest sibling. This means they may be walking across our campus and that is OK.
- If a student walks to school, they will go to the closest entrance to avoid walking on Hwy 62.
- The tardy bell rings at 8:05 am and students should be in class.
- Upper gates will be locked at 8:08 am. If your student is arriving after that they must come through the Schoolhouse Lane entrance to check in at the office.
Again, we want to thank you for supporting us with this.

Cell Phones
Students will not be able to use their cell phones or any other communicative devices, including but not limited to cell phones or smart watches. These items must be stored in backpacks, turned off or on silent, for the entirety of the school day. Students are not allowed to have phones or other communicative devices on their person at any point of time during the school day. This includes in their pockets or notebooks. The expectation is that all students will adhere to this rule.
Consequences for breaking this policy:
First offense - Phone taken for the day. Reteach and phone call home. The student can pick up their cell phone from the front office after school is released for the day.
Second offense - Phone taken for the day. Phone call home. The parent or guardian must be the one to pick up the cell phone from the front office after school is released for the day. One lunchtime detention.
Third offense - Phone taken for the day. Phone call home. The parent or guardian must be the one to pick up the cell phone from the front office after school is released for the day. Two lunch detentions. The cell phone will not be allowed on campus until there is a parent/guardian meeting. Repeat offenses will fall under the category of defiance.
Although students will not be able to use their cell phones during the school day, students will have access to a landline for emergencies. If you need to speak with your child during the school day, please call the office, and we will make sure you are able to communicate any important information with them.

iPad Protection Plan
iPad Protection Plan is $25 per student. It may be paid through ParentVue or by sending check or cash to school with your scholar. We highly recommend this insurance. You never know when an accident is going to happen. If you have not paid the insurance then you will be responsible for the cost to fix or replace the iPad.
IPad Protection is an annual fee. If you had the iPad Protection Plan for the 2023-24 school year it is still effective until September 3, 2024. During the 2024-2025 school year, EPSD9 will continue to offer an optional iPad Protection Plan to students and families. The annual iPad Protection Plan will be effective from September 3, 2024-September 2, 2025. The cost for the Protection Plan is $25.00. Without this Protection Plan, students will be responsible for all repair or replacement costs. If your student did not have the iPad Protection Plan for the 2023-24 school year, students will need to bring their iPad to the office to verify the condition of the iPad prior to acceptance of your Protection Plan payment. Please click on this link for more information on iPad Protection Plan.
