PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES
Please sign up for conferences.
Log onto your Genesis Parent Portal.
• Be sure you are viewing the correct child. The “SELECT STUDENT” dropdown controls which
child you are viewing.
• Click on the “Conferences” tab.
• Click on the Fall or Spring Teacher Conference link.
• A list of open conferences will be displayed in green with Start and End times. In most cases
just the homeroom teacher will display. Should you see 2 teachers listed, you can choose a
conference with both teachers. Only one conference per teacher can be scheduled per
household. Conferences in red are already reserved by someone else.
• Click on “Reserve” for the time you wish to choose.
• The time you choose will now say Scheduled.
• If you wish to change your time, you should click on Cancel, and then choose another
appointment.
• Click back on the Conferences Tab to see a summary of your conferences.
• If you click on Update, you will be taken back to the scheduling screen
TEACHER OF THE YEAR NOMINATION
Do you know a classroom teacher or educational services provider who is dedicated, inspiring, and makes a difference? If so, please take the time to recommend this person for the Governor's Educator of the Year by completing this nomination form by November 13th.
Please consider someone who:
- Serves as an exceptionally skilled and dedicated educator in a public school
- Inspires students of all backgrounds and abilities to learn
- Demonstrates leadership and innovation in and outside the classroom
- Has the respect and admiration of students, parents, administrators and colleagues
- Plays an active role in the community as well as the school

CLOTHING DRIVE
November is the month of giving and the Collins Fifth Grade Committee is holding a clothing drive to give back! Clean out your closets and help a family in need. All clothing should be preferably placed in 13-gallon white kitchen trash bags and dropped at 50 Martin Road between Thursday, November 16th and Monday, November 20th. *If you need to use large black garbage bags, please only pack lighter items (such as stuffed animals or linens) or they can become too heavy.
Acceptable Items:
- Clothing and Shoes (All sizes) *No winter items or high heels
- Accessories (Belts, Purses, Backpacks, Ball caps)
- Toys (Soft and Hard toys) *Must be 14 inches or smaller
- Linens (Bedsheets, Bedspreads, Blankets, Curtains, Towels)

PTO CORNER
MEDIA CENTER NOVEMBER/DECEMBER Signup is now open. Links should have been sent by class parents. Please note that we are requesting that parents only sign up for one slot per child/class during November/December. TEACHER LOUNGE REFRESHMENTS! We are collecting donations for various treats and drinks for the teachers' lounge. We will stock the lounge at the beginning of every month. Donations can be dropped off at a private home (message us for details please) or at the school. Monetary donations can be sent via Venmo (see sign-up link for details).
