Thank You to Our Veterans
Thank you to all veterans for your service, bravery, and dedication. We are deeply grateful for the sacrifices you've made to protect our freedoms. In honor of Veterans Day, please note that school will be closed on Monday, November 11. Today, we honor and remember all that you have given.
Let's Celebrate Attendance
Brag tags have been awarded; students loved the red-carpet treatment! Attendance is more than just showing up—it’s key to your student’s success and academic growth. Everyday counts, so let’s keep the momentum going! Your support makes all the difference.
Core Essential Nights
At Harlan Elementary School, we are committed to working with families to give students the best opportunities to S.O.A.R. to new heights. Our students are consistently learning how to be Safe, Organized, Accountable, and Respectful in all they do. Students who work hard to display these qualities are rewarded and recognized daily. One special way we celebrate their achievements is by giving out white cards, which can be redeemed for a free meal at Chick-fil-A.
Parents, you can support us and your students' achievements by reminding them to S.O.A.R. every day before they leave for school!
Ruby Bridges Walk to School Event
In 1960, six-year-old Ruby Bridges made history by becoming the first Black student to integrate William Frantz Elementary School in New Orleans, making her a national icon for the civil rights movement. Today, Ruby’s courage continues to inspire students to become leaders in the fight against racism and all forms of bullying.
As part of our annual day of dialogue, once students arrive to school, we will honor Ruby’s historic steps by engaging in conversations and participating in our own acts of activism to help end racism. We’re excited to see our students carry forward her legacy, one step at a time. Stay tuned on Class Dojo for more details.
