Howdy! I hope everyone had a great weekend. I am sure you had some tired kiddos after completing a full week of school. It was a great week! Thanks for all your help in making it such a successful week and transition back into the school year.

A huge shout out to all of the volunteers who showed up at our Volunteer Breakfast. What a great turn out!! If you couldn't make it and would like to get plugged in, send me an email and we can get you connected.

In the afternoons, traffic is backed up when Oak Hills has dismissal. If you need to enter Keenan at that time, you are always welcome to enter through the second entrance by the stadium and park on the side of the school. It’s just a little longer walk around to the front.

As we approach the November election, it's important to stay informed about Proposition A, which will have significant implications for our community. This measure will be on the ballot, and your voice matters!

Take some time to research what Prop A entails and how it could affect our schools. Understanding the details will help you make an informed decision when you vote.

Returning lions, don't forget you have to complete "Returning Student Registration" in Skyward for the 2024-2025 school year.

Transportation changes must be made in writing no later than 2:00pm. Changes can be sent with a student or emailed to KeenanTransit@misd.org. If you are making a change from your normal daily transportation, a note must be sent in each time that needs to be changed. With 700 students we want to ensure everyone gets home safely and the correct way.

If your child is absent from school, make sure you follow these 3 easy steps. See the attachment below!

Please plan ahead and allow yourself some extra time when checking your student out early. You MUST have your drivers license or a state issued ID with you.

All early check-outs must be complete by 3:20.

Students will not be called down to the office until you have arrived and checked them out completely.

Running Club will start on Monday, September 16th and registration will open for 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders only on Wednesday, August 28 at 7am! Space is limited to 75 students. We will meet for 8 weeks total including the following dates September 16, 23, 30, October 7, 21, 28, and November 4 & 11. Parents will need to drop off their student before school between 7:05-7:15am at the back of Keenan using the bus ramp. Students will be running outside, unless the weather does not cooperate. You can use the link below or the QR code on the flyer that was given to students in PE on Monday and Tuesday. The Running Club registration form will be open at 7:00am on Wednesday, August 28. New rules went into effect in August 2024 that impact MISD procedures for the administration of medication to students. ALL medications, including over the counter medications such as ibuprofen, acetaminophen, and oral or topical medications require a medical provider and parent/guardian signature before the medication may be administered. Please use the Authorization and Permission for Medication Administration form to obtain signatures from your medical provider and return to the school nurse.
