This Week's NEW Happenings
Earth Day 2025
Room 214 read about the history and importance of Earth Day. They discussed important ways we can take care of the Earth. Each student made 3 promises about how they would help take care of the Earth.
Mrs. Wilson’s students worked to beautify the school
during their art class with Ms Dean
Appropriate Footwear for School
We are so fortunate that we have wonderful places to play at recess daily. With that being said students need to wear the appropriate footwear to school. In almost every case this means sneakers, closed toe shoes with a back and soles appropriate for running. This does not include crocs, slides or slippers, sandals or flip flops. If children are not wearing safe footwear to run, jump and play we will advise them to walk around the track to allow them to enjoy the beautiful weather safely. This is a far better option than an injury. Thank you so much for your cooperation.
Partner Reading in Action
Second graders in Mrs. Martins’ class spent time partner reading. They take turns reading or chorally read and have time to discuss what is happening in their books. This is not only engaging, but a great way for children to be accountable for their reading.

Please Share Your Feedback and Complete This Family Climate Survey
Dear Parents and Guardians,
We invite you to take part in our 2024-2025 School Climate Survey. Your insights are crucial in our ongoing efforts to enhance our schools and foster a vibrant school community. Together, we can work towards creating a positive and inclusive atmosphere where every voice is heard and valued.
The survey will be open for responses until May 16, 2025. Please use the link below.
Parental Support Appreciated
Parents we need your help. Smartwatches like phones are not school tools. Students engaging in group texts and chats have started to create issues here at school. Please support the rules about phones and smartwatches. and leave them home. If you need to reach your child at any time at school we always know where they are and you may call the office at any time. Please also continue to monitor your child's online activity. Spring is here and we encourage the children to put down the devices and get outside for fresh air and fun.

Smart Watches and Cell Phones
Parents we need your support.
Smart Watches:
Smart Watches can be quite distracting. Students should not be contacting parents via their Smart Watch during the school day. In addition, we ask that you refrain from sending your child text messages. We do not encourage the wearing of Smart Watches at all, especially due to their value. There is not a need for access to the technology features of a Smart Watch during the school day, including on transportation.
Cell Phones:
If you have decided to provide your child with a cell phone, please note it must be off and out of sight the entire day. This includes ON THE BUS. There have been several reports of students using their phones while riding school provided transportation. We request that you have continued conversations with your children regarding this topic.
Thank you in advance for your support!
