Committing to College Sports
Sealy signs letter of intent for the Razorbacks
Four-star student-athlete Isaiah Sealy committed Nov. 20 to play basketball for the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville at a signing event at Springdale High School.
“Being able to continue playing a sport I love at the next level is amazing,” Sealy said. “I’m excited to start the process of becoming a Razorback and working with their staff.”
Sealy, 17, plays for the Springdale High School Bulldogs. He's the nation’s No. 69 overall prospect, No. 17 small forward and No. 1 recruit in Arkansas for the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking.
The 6-foot-7 senior is 200 pounds and decided on Coach John Calipari and the University of Arkansas over Ole Miss, Boston College and Cal. He also had scholarship offers from schools that included Oklahoma, Missouri, Louisville, Mississippi State, Creighton, Minnesota, Saint Louis and Virginia Tech.
Sealy is the third commitment for the Razorbacks' 2025 class. He's joined by five-star guards Darius Acuff and Meleek Thomas.
The senior has played basketball since kindergarten and averaged 28.2 points, 3 assists, 8 rebounds, 1.8 blocks and 1.3 steals per game for Springdale High.
Sealy made all state and all conference as a junior, and was recognized as a member of the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette All-Arkansas Preps second team. He was likewise named to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette All-Arkansas Preps Underclassman team after averaging 17 points, 3 assists, 7 rebounds and 2 blocks when he was a sophomore.
Sealy is currently undecided on a college major.
“Ultimately, I want to play in the NBA, but if that doesn't work out, I would like to coach or scout for a basketball program,” he said.
Sealy lives in Springdale and is the son of Oscar Sealy and Jordan Gipson.
“I would like to thank God, my family, coaches, trainers and my teachers for going through this process with me,” he said. “I appreciate all the Arkansas coaches for putting their time into recruiting me.”
