Solar Eclipse - April 8th & 9th
April 8th: Students will not report to school. Instead, they will have an eLearning day where teachers will upload their assignments into Google Classroom and SeeSaw.
April 9th: Students will not report to school. Instead, they will have Real Time Learning where teachers will ZOOM with the students. See the Read Time Learning schedule below:
Real Time Learning
If it is known IN ADVANCE that school will be closed for a day or multiple days, families will be notified in advance and students will learn from home. Real Time Learning involves lessons being presented live to students via Zoom. After the lesson, teachers will be available to help students through their work while also answering questions. There will be two sessions: a morning Zoom for reading and an afternoon Zoom for math and other subjects.
These days will count as a full day of learning with the state and do not need to be made up. The following schedule will be used during REAL Time Learning:
State Testing Days (2nd - 4th Grades Only)
IREAD-3 (2nd & 3rd Grade Only):
March 4th - 15th
ILEARN: (3rd & 4th Grade)
Apr. 15th – May 10th
Kindergarten Enrollment is OPEN
Did you know that people who speak more than one language have improved memory, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, enhanced concentration, ability to multitask, and better listening skills?
Our Spanish Immersion program at Poston Road Elementary allows students the opportunity to learn Spanish through their daily subject areas all while mastering the same academic standards required by the state as the non-Spanish Immersion students. At the elementary level, the program begins in kindergarten and goes through fourth grade.
We are now enrolling kindergarten students for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year. Kindergarten students must be 5 years old on or before October 1, 2023.

IMPORTANT
Arrival and Dismissal Procedures (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday)
- Doors open at 8:25AM (we do not have staff members available to supervise students before 8:25) Please DO NOT drop them off at the door prior to 8:25.
- Door 2 (by the cemetery) & Door 8 (by the car wash) are both options for drop off. It is your preference on which door you would like to drop your child off at. Please pull up along the sidewalk before letting your child out of the car. DO NOT allow your child to cross in front of cars. If your child is in preschool, kindergarten, or first grade, we would prefer that you drop off and pick up at Door #2.
Dismissal:
- Walkers will be dismissed out Door 2 & Door 8 first at 3:30PM.
- Next, the students riding buses and daycare vans will dismiss out of Door 2 at 3:35PM.
- Finally, car riders will be dismissed. If you are picking up your child, grades PK-1 (and older siblings) will be picked up at Door 2. Students in grades 2-4 will be picked up at Door 8. Please stay in your car as we will bring your child out to you.
WELL Wednesdays - Arrival Time & Dismissal

Additionally, all student breakfasts are provided at No Cost to all students making it a win-win for families.
