Learn About Communities Past, Present, & Future
As an ongoing project, the GGCP is providing resources to further learning for all about Native and Indigenous People, especially those whose ancestors were the original inhabitants of the area we now know as the Chicago North Shore. We thank Northwestern University and the Smithsonian Museum for their resources. Other great places to visit to learn more include the Mitchel Museum of the American Indian in Evanston, IL or Trickster Cultural Center in Schaumburg, IL. We also thank Mrs. Jill Burns, Glen Grove science coach, for her collaboration on this project!

The Haudenosaunee (Iroquois Confederacy) makes a thanksgiving address during big events to center on thankfulness for all the Earth has to offer. We have this particular thanksgiving address displayed at the front of the school as a reminder of all the things we have to give thanks for.
