Greenacres December Newsletter
December 16 - 20
From the Principals Desk
We are one week away from hopefully, what will be, a restful Winter Break for everyone. With that said, there will be lots of fun things in store for students and teachers here at GES! To name a few of these fun festivities, we will have our 2nd grade concert on Wednesday, fun holiday parties, and the annual Roadrunner Holiday Spirit week. For spirit week, you will see a calendar further down this newsletter with what to wear. We can't wait!
This past Monday was our PACE award's assembly for the month of November, and the character trait was citizenship. It was a wonderful time to celebrate our students that worked so hard last month. So you know, December's character trait is caring. This probably won't be a surprise to some of you, but I am BIG fan of Fred Rogers (Mister Rogers). One of his famous lines is "in tough times.... look for the helpers, you will always find the helpers". We here at Greenacres are looking to honor students that show a genuine concern for others and look to help. We want to find the helpers , therefore, thank you for sending us so many wonderful helpers.
Lastly, we feel so fortunate here at GES to be able to provide free breakfast and lunch to ALL students. We hope that this is a blessing for you and your student. Nevertheless, we are finding that our breakfast line is extremely long and often students are not getting to class on time. If you could support us by making sure your student is to school on time and reminding them that if they need breakfast, please head straight to the breakfast room and eat quick so they can go to class. We want to MAXIMIZE our learning time here with ALL kids.
I wish you all a wonderful weekend!
Warmly,
Brandon Dunn
