Pyramid of Success
Coach Wooden believed and taught that the most important responsibility each of us had to ourselves was to do everything we could to achieve our own potential. He offered his Pyramid of Success and his definition of Success as a guide, stepping stones to help young people understand what it really takes to make the effort – 100% – to fulfill their potential and do their best. Every couple of weeks, our students will focus on one or two character traits from Coach Wooden's Pyramid of Success. Positive examples of students exemplifying the character traits will be recognized with the Pyramid of Success Awards. Classroom lessons will reinforce elements of the Pyramid of Success. Additionally, whole school assemblies will feature character traits from Coach Wooden’s Pyramid of Success.
For the next two weeks, we will be focusing on Hard Work and Enthusiasm:
- Hard Work – “Failing to prepare is preparing to fail”. Preparing for success means you must work hard. Are you preparing to succeed or preparing to fail? If you are looking for an easy way, a short cut or trick you are preparing to fail because success requires old-fashioned hard work. Remember: Only you know if you are working as hard as you can.
- Enthusiasm - “Make each day special.” You have to like what you’re doing to do what you like at the highest level. Your heart must be in it. Without enthusiasm, you can’t achieve your fullest potential. Hard work combined with Enthusiasm is a powerful engine. I have attached classroom lesson ideas to help support the theme of cooperation.
This Week at Adams Elementary
What an amazing STEM Night we had on Wednesday! It was incredible to see so many families come out to explore the wonders of science with their students. The evening was filled with exciting hands-on activities, including petting live snakes, digging for fossils, building and testing hovercrafts, flying paper airplanes, and learning about aerodynamics. Students and families enjoyed every moment, and making ice cream was a highlight of such a fun-filled evening! A huge thank you goes to our incredible teachers who made this event possible: Mrs. Harvey, Ms. Gealer, Ms. Martinez, Mrs. Ball, Ms. Howell, Ms. Mulholland, Mrs. Harmon, and Mrs. Bonthius. Your hard work and dedication truly brought this night to life and made it an unforgettable experience for our community. Congratulations to the following students who won the EGG-Drop Challenge: Charlie, Pietra, Cole, Knox, Blake, Brando, Montserrat, Melanie, Isabella and Tristan. We also want to give a special shoutout to Ares, one of our 6th-grade students, for completing his STEM passport and winning a telescope! Congratulations, Ares! We can’t wait to see what you’ll discover as you reach for the stars.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped celebrate the joy of learning through science. We’re already looking forward to our next STEM adventure! 🚀🔭🧪🐍✈🍦

Best Attendance
We are thrilled to recognize the classroom that achieved perfect attendance last week! A big congratulations to Ms. Miller's class for setting a fantastic example of commitment and teamwork with 98.6% attendance. Your dedication to being at school every day is something to be proud of! Consistent attendance is incredibly important for elementary students. Every school day provides students with opportunities to learn, connect with their classmates, and build foundational skills that set them up for future success. When students attend regularly, they don’t miss out on important lessons, hands-on activities, and valuable classroom discussions. Attendance also fosters a sense of responsibility and helps students feel more connected to their school community. Thank you, Ms. Miller's class, for leading the way with your commitment to being here every day. Let’s keep up the great attendance, All-Stars!
