Green Team Hard at Work
Our school garden, named after our beloved longtime volunteer Grandma Esther, has been a staple in our school community for over 10 years. Green Team meets after school to help weed, plant, and maintain the space. This week they are preparing for the winter garden. All students have access to the garden and often visit once a month through our garden docent program.
A special thanks to Green Team, Kristina Cameron, and Grandma Esther for keeping our garden beautiful throughout the years and a warm welcome to our new Garden Docent Coordinator- Jannelle Link! If you are a Garden Docent you may contact her for lesson ideas at jnell76@hotmail.com
Retake Picture Day is Almost Here!
Math Lab on Thursday Mornings
FHS math club students will be available room 5 on Thursday mornings from 7:45-8:10 to provide students in 4th and 5th grade opportunities to drop in for any needs they may have that are math related. It could be help with homework, reteaching, or if they want to come and learn some new higher-level math for fun, the student volunteers can provide that as well! This will be a drop-in type opportunity with no sign-up or commitment necessary.
PBIS
Did you know that Natoma Station was recently recognized by the State of California for its implementation and fidelity of PBIS?
Our school received a gold recognition for its efforts and implementation towards being a PBIS school. We were 1 of only 6 schools in our district to receive gold recognition, with only 1 other school in our district getting the highest recognition of platinum.
Positive behavioral interventions and supports (PBIS) is a schoolwide systems approach aimed at establishing positive student culture and individualized behavior supports necessary to create a safe and effective learning environment for all students.
We have 3 behavior expectations/standards that are the foundation of our PBIS system at Natoma Station. Here is a fun 1 question survey to see how well your child knows our 3 behavior expectations/standards. We would love 2 minutes of your time to see if your child can tell you what our 3 behaviors expectations/standards are.
