Be Safe, Exercise Responsibility, Engage in Learning, and Practice Kindness!
Reynolds' Report
Hello Roadrunner Families!
Did you know that First Street School is a PBIS School? This means that we focus on celebrating positive behaviors in students, to help students want to rise to high standards.
Some of the things you might see around our campus that contribute to this are our expectations posters, our weekly assemblies, our BEEP expectations, the BEEP cards your students earn, and the BEEP cart and rewards your students can receive! You will also see teachers working hard to celebrate student successes, setting clear expectations so that students know what to expect in class and around campus, and focused attention on specific goals for students each week.
Friday was our first BEEP cart of the year! We had hundreds of BEEP cards cashed in for prizes today. Ask your student if they were able to purchase anything off of the BEEP cart with their BEEP cards! Students also had the opportunity to purchase entry into the trimester party, which this trimester will be a Snow Cone Truck party!
When our students follow our school expectations, we celebrate! Be sure to celebrate your Roadrunner this week for Being Safe, Exercising Responsibility, Engaging in Learning, and Practicing Kindness!
Have a phenomenal week, Roadrunners!

While all lunch room volunteers need a valid TB test on file with the office, there are no clearance requirements for PTO, School Site Council, or English Language Advisory Committee participation.
Childcare and dinner will also be provided for all School Site Council and English Language Advisory Committee meetings.
It is important to our campus to have parent voice and support for our students. We hope you'll be able to join us some time this month to volunteer and enjoy a little bit of the joy we have each day on our campus!
Topic of the Week
Managing Big or Uncomfortable Feelings Using Our Breath
In this week's assembly, we started talking about strategies to manage big or uncomfortable feelings. Over the next few weeks, we will explore a variety of strategies to help us when our feelings become big or uncomfortable. The goal of this is to help students learn to self-regulate so that when their emotions get big, they feel empowered to calm themselves and be ready for learning again!
Check out the three calm break techniques we practiced this week!

Box Tops for Education
Box Tops for Education
Box Tops collection continues digitally all year with the Box Tops app. First Street School gets $0.10 for each Box Top scanned for our school. While that isn't much on its own, the whole school community collecting them from Participating Products throughout the year can earn enough to pay for things like software memberships, supplies for classroom activities, or other low cost school support.
- Earn Box Tops for participating products by scanning receipts with the Box Tops app.
- When you shop online or use delivery services, you can earn Box Tops by forwarding your e-receipt to receipts@boxtops4education.com or by uploading it with the Box Tops app. Learn more about submitting e-receipts here.

Student Quarantine:
Effective this year, California Department of Public Health has replaced most of the requirements about student quarantine with recommendations. The one remaining requirement is that students who are ill must be fever-free for at least 24 hours without the aide of fever-reducing medications before they are able to return to school.
