National School Lunch Week
To kick things off, on October 7 is the Minnesota Great Apple Crunch. A local apple from Rabideaux farms will be served with each school lunch.
Returning this year is the Recipe Contest! Elementary students will have the opportunity to submit a recipe for the chance to have their recipe featured on your school's lunch menu. Recipe submission will be accepted thru October 16 . Winners will be announced early November. Click here for the recipe submission form. Completed forms can be turned into the office.
Lastly, we will be offering Sambusas on October 16! Students will have the choice between Beef or Lentil Sambusa. There will be another entree choice served this day in addition to our Sunbutter Sandwich choice. We are especially excited to feature Hoyo Sambusas on our menu for National School Lunch week, because they are hand-made right in Bloomington. We cannot wait to hear what you think of them! Click here to view a video about this menu item.
Hoyo, the producer of these Sambusas, describes them as "delicious fried pastries certain to transport students and staff to a whole new world of taste."
Mounds View Orchestra Program Award
The Mounds View School District Orchestra Program has been awarded the 2024 Meritorious Orchestra Program Award by the Minnesota String and Orchestra Teachers Association (MNSOTA). This prestigious award recognizes the excellence of our program and the positive impact we’ve made on students and the string community across Minnesota.
This achievement wouldn’t be possible without the incredible support from all of you—our families, parents, and community members. Your dedication and involvement have been instrumental in helping us build and sustain a strong and successful orchestra program. We are deeply grateful for all that you’ve done to support us over the years.
We also want to express our gratitude to our amazing students, whose hard work and passion for music have been key to our success. Your commitment to orchestra has made this recognition possible, and we couldn’t be prouder of all you’ve accomplished.
The orchestra staff will officially be presented with the award on Thu, Oct 17, and we wanted to take this opportunity to share the news and thank you again for your support.
We look forward to many more years of making music together!
