Join us tomorrow for our Parent Coffee Talk
Join Mrs. Daniel, GLOBE's Director of Language Program, for a Coffee Talk on Thursday, April 25, 8:30am - 9:30am at Lower Campus Village Plaza. Families will receive their STAMP scores the following day, on April 26. Both Upper and Lower Campus families are welcome to attend.
Summer Camp spaces still available
There is still some availability for this year's Summer Language Camp which takes place from June 10 to June 28, 2024. Groups that still have some availability are Kindergarten, 1st grade, and 4th/5th grade. 2nd/3rd grade is now full. This year we are also offering classes for our newest GLOBE students. We will have incoming kindergarten classes in each of the three languages. Click here to register.
Allow extra time due to upcoming road closure
Beginning this Friday, April 26, part of N. Druid Hills Road (the bridge over I-85) will be closed for 90 days. Traffic will be re-routed up and down Clairmont's access roads. If this is part of your route into school each morning, please allow extra time.
Full information including re-routing maps can be viewed on the GDOT (Georgia Department of Transportation) website, here. A video about the project can be viewed here.

Library book checkout is officially closed
Book checkout is officially closed for the year. Thank you for making Ms. Stowe's first year so much fun! If your student still has library books at home, please help them make their way back to the library. Ms. Stowe is trying to get everything scanned back in and put away before the end of the school year. If you are unsure if your student has outstanding books, feel free to send her an email. If any books have met a tragic end by liquid pet, or otherwise, or have disappeared altogether, please let us know so we can update those titles. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to reach out.
Volunteers needed for Kindergarten and 1st grade music performances
LC music teacher, Ms. Wang, is looking for volunteers to help with the Kindergarten and 1st grade spring music performances. Please sign up here if you can help. If you have questions, please contact Ms. Wang by email.
Upper Campus
Field Day 2024 at UC
It's almost time for one of the most exciting days of the year!

Download the event flyer here.
All GLOBE families are welcome to come along and cheer on our Olympic athletes as they compete!
We need your help
Upper Campus require volunteers to help with specific games and to help the coaches overall. If you are able to help, sign up here.
Admissions
GLOBE is excited to welcome our new students to our community next year, however, we do understand that plans can change. If your plans to return to GLOBE have changed from “yes” to “no” between now and the start of the 2024/25 school year, please let us know by completing this form: Student Withdrawal Notification*.
*The Student Withdrawal Form requires a Google account sign-in to upload the necessary ID documents. If you do not have a Google account, please contact the Registrar to notify us.
Having an accurate count for the school year allows us to plan and budget appropriately and allows a student from our waiting list to fill the open spot.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Tamiko Jones, Admissions Coordinator, via email at Admissions@theglobeacademy.net or call 404-464-7040, ext. 225.
To request student records, send an email to: Registrar@theglobeacademy.net.
Parent Teacher Community Council
PTCC Officers Election Update
GLOBE's Parent Teacher Community Council (PTCC) did not receive nominations for two volunteers to serve as officers for the 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 school years. Thus, we have postponed the PTCC officer elections.
If you are interested in running for the position of Co-Chair or Secretary for the PTCC, please email your name, position of interest and a summary (not to exceed 500 words) on why you would like to hold an officer position to the Executive Director, Christi Elliott-Earby and to the PTCC Co-chairs (ptccofficers.globeacademy@gmail.com). Please detail your past experience at GLOBE or other school leadership or volunteer positions. Candidates will be evaluated based on why they are interested and prior parent involvement/volunteer experience. If you have any questions, feel free to email PTCC Officers.
The 2024 PTCC Annual GLOBE Auction
Thank you to the participants (online and in person) and especially to the volunteers that made it all possible. There are a few items left in the Fire Sale, and you can still donate to the Fund-a-Project by visiting the Auction website.
“Volunteer of the Month” Carpool Winners!
Congratulations to our volunteers of the month, Dana Williams and Wes Williams. We hope you enjoy using the “Volunteer of the Month” carpool flag to skip the line this month of April. Special shout-out to Carrie Brown, Anna Holbrook, and Laura Hancock for their volunteerism as well. Be sure to log your volunteer hours for a chance to win next month!
Last Day of School: PTCC Spirit Night at Stars & Strikes
Come celebrate the end of the school year with us at a GLOBE Spirit Night! Join us on Wednesday, May 22, from noon until close (midnight) at Stars and Strikes (1741 Mountain Industrial Blvd).
School will be a half day (early release), so you can head to Stars & Strikes right after school or later in the evening to celebrate with other GLOBE families. Fifteen percent of sales will go back to PTCC. After paying, please give your receipt to the PTCC volunteer at the venue to be included in the total for the night. Download the flyer here.
Electronics Recycling Week
From Monday, April 22 to Friday April 26, drop off your electronics to be recycled in one of the bins at UC or LC. UC bins will be located in the breezeway outside of the auditorium entrance. LC bins will be located under the awning in the flagpole parking lot. See flyer for more details.
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle with GotSneakers
Recycle your unwanted SNEAKERS this EARTH Day in the collection bin at Upper and Lower campus from Friday 4/19 through Friday 4/26 morning. Upper Campus bins will be located in the breezeway outside of the auditorium entrance. Lower Campus bins will be located under the awning in the flagpole parking lot. Keep your kicks out of the landfill! See flyer for more details.
Staff Appreciation Week at UC
UC Parents, we need your help! We want to show our wonderful GLOBE staff how much they mean to us during Staff Appreciation Week (May 6–10). If you’re interested in volunteering for this event, please email classpac.globeacademy@gmail.com.
Order from Minted
Do you have a high school graduate this spring? If you're ordering announcements, consider ordering from Minted, and use our promo code. You'll get 20% off your purchase price, and GLOBE PTCC will get a 15% donation. It's a WIN-WIN! When placing an order, simply enter FUNDRAISEGLOBE in the promo code box at checkout.
Lost and Found: Please label your items
Parent volunteers return labeled items to the owner's classroom. If your items are not labeled, they may never make it back home. Please take a moment to find a labeling solution that will work for you. Here are some ideas to get you started: Avery No-Iron Kids Clothing Labels, Sharpie Fabric Marker, and Mabel's Labels (customizable labels and stamps, dishwasher and laundry safe. Enter "The GLOBE Academy" in the "support a fundraiser" field, and they'll donate 20% back to GLOBE!).
Volunteer hours can help GLOBE receive grants
Did you know that when you volunteer, it can help GLOBE receive grants? Some donors want to know how involved the community is. We can show them that parents are invested in the school by sharing the volunteer hours we have tracked. So please remember to log your hours here. When you log your time, you'll also be entered in our drawing for a volunteer-of-the-month carpool flag. As a reminder, each family is requested to volunteer ten hours each year. To see current volunteer opportunities, click here. Thank you for volunteering at GLOBE.
Shopping can help GLOBE!
Did you know when you shop at places like Publix, Kroger, and OfficeMax/Office Depot, they will donate to GLOBE PTCC? To find out how to easily set this up, click here. Every penny counts!
