Overview
The week of May 6 is National Teacher Appreciation Week and Wednesday, May 8 is National School Nurse Day. At Central High, we are so very fortunate to have such a talented and dedicated team of educators serving our students and the community, along with a committed and caring school nurse. Students, please take time this week to give your teachers and our school nurse a word of appreciation.

New Signage in Schools
New signs in our building mark areas where sinks should not be used to access drinking water.
Missouri has a new law that sets standards for lead concentrations in school drinking water. This law requires all public schools to conduct inventory, sampling, remediation, and monitoring at all drinking water outlets used or potentially used for drinking, food preparation, and cooking or cleaning utensils. Other outlets are to be marked as non-potable - or not for drinking.
Parkway is testing drinking water sources in every school. As we receive test results, they are posted on the Parkway website for each school/building. Parkway is working to remediate any drinking water source that is out of compliance.
The new signs do not indicate the result of a test. As the signs indicate, these water sources are not to be used for drinking, food preparation, cooking or cleaning utensils used for and by children, and therefore will not be tested for lead.
AP Exams & Modified Hallway Flow
Advanced Placement exams begin Monday, May 6 and continue through Friday, May 17. In the next two weeks, over 500 Central High students will take over 800 AP exams. The AP exam schedule is set by College Board and can be viewed HERE. At PCH, most exams will be administered in either the library (large group) or the counseling classroom (small group). Students, if you are taking an AP exam, please review the email you received from Ms. Prange for additional information.
To ensure a positive testing environment, we need the cooperation of all students. Students, please adhere to the following guidelines:
- After 7:35 am, access to English and social studies classes will be through the 1000 hallway rather than "The T" intersection. The large doors at the T will be closed.
- Please keep noise levels to a minimum when you are in proximity to either the library or the counseling area.
Thank you, in advance, for your understanding, cooperation, and flexibility!

Project Graduation: Overview
Project Graduation (PG) is one of the many wonderful traditions at Central High. PG is a parent sponsored lock-in following graduation. This event helps ensure our students have a safe graduation experience and a great time on their last night together as a class. The reality is that an event such as this requires a significant amount of money. To raise the necessary funds, parent volunteers from each class form a core committee during the ninth grade year. The committee works from the freshman year through the lock-in to raise funds and plan the after graduation lock-in for their class. Each Project Graduation Core Committee falls under the umbrella of the Central High Parent Teacher Organization.
Over the years, a few events have become central to the fundraising efforts of each PG Core Committee. Senior Tailgate, held during the week of homecoming, is sponsored by the PG Core Committee for seniors. During late winter or early spring, a trivia night is hosted by that year’s PG committee for juniors. In addition, PG committees sponsor various other fundraisers throughout the year as part of their effort to provide a safe and memorable after graduation experience for their class. Thank you, in advance, for your support of our PG committees and their work on behalf of our students
To all of our PCH moms: Happy Mother's Day...a week early! Thank you for sharing your children with us and for all you do to support them each and every day.
