A Note from Principal Presley
We completed our first full week (and by we, I don’t mean me because I took off at 11:45 AM today to pick my friend up from the airport). Routines are up and running, and teacher meetings are diving into the learning cycle. This week, staff had their first staff meeting of the year- thanks families for your flexibility with a 3:15 PM dismissal on these days! We also had the first PTA meeting of the year. It was filled with great energy and a productive pace! Thanks to all who were able to join.
Yesterday, the weather worked in our favor as families joined for the PTA sponsored Ice Cream Social! Community gatherings are a highlight for me in this role. This morning, we hosted the first Coffee Talk- I know it's been a busy one, so here's the slides for those interested. We will continue to host monthly coffee talks on the second Tuesday each month; feel free to join us!
Finally, next Thursday, we will be hosting a back to school night! Take a look at the information below for more information!

Library Volunteers Needed!
The Library is in need of volunteers to help with shelving and possibly assisting students when they are "shopping for books."
Grandparents or special friends are welcome to sign up too. Light lifting is involved. Check the link here for Monday and Friday shifts that might match your availability. This signup will be updated quarterly with reminders when new shifts are available. As always, all volunteers must be up to date with background checks. Contact Nancy Gilkey with any questions, ngilkey@pps.net.
In celebration of continued fun with reading over the summer, we are encouraging all students who have this year or previous year's Multnomah County Library's summer reading t-shirts to wear them on Wed. Sept. 18 to school.
