Weekly Update
Holy Trinity Catholic School April 3rd, 2025
Our Mission is to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ,
to provide a high-quality education,
and to guide children in living the Catholic faith
Prayer
Dear God,
I come before you today to pray for your divine guidance and strength for the person who is fearful of change. Lord, I know that change can be overwhelming and scary at times, but I also understand that change is often necessary for us to grow and become the people you have called us to be. Sometimes change is essential to accomplish all that You desire in them and through them.
I pray that you will give them courage and confidence in the face of uncertainty. Help them to trust in Your character, Your plan and Your presence in their life.
Amen
A Note from Mrs. Longden
Lent is the Catholic liturgical season that consists of forty days of fasting, prayer, and repentance, beginning at Ash Wednesday and concluding at sundown on Holy Thursday. Lent is a period of preparation to celebrate the Lord's Resurrection at Easter. During Lent, we seek the coming of our Lord in prayer, serve by almsgiving, and practice self-control through fasting.
Ash Wednesday and the 40 days of Lent are well underway. During this Lenten season, let
us focus on this as an opportunity to make changes to our daily lives and become closer to God. During this journey, we may want to ask ourselves: Am I doing my best to live as a Disciple of Jesus Christ or do I need to change my routine a bit with extra prayer, fasting and sharing my blessings with others. It is from this type of self-reflection that we can draw our so-called “Lenten practices.” After all, the ultimate goal of our spiritual life is to become more like Jesus; reaching out to help others. Lent affords us the time for a renewal process. Our main focus is to prepare ourselves for the holiest day of the year, Easter. As a school community we are focusing on being gifts to each other and to have a better understanding of what Prayer, Fasting and Almsgiving is.
Turning the page on the calendar from March to April brings about a sense of freshness and hope for the months to come. Just as the Resurrection brings us a path to follow in hope, the days of spring also lead us to a path of warmth and sunshine. The chugging along that took place in the winter months and the stillness of Lent seems to be changing to leaps of joy as we move forward in the Easter season.
May our hearts be filled with the Resurrection celebration and the hope of all that is to come in our families, our school, our community, and in our world.
I pray that Lent brings you and your family great peace as we await the Feast of Easter.
Blessings,
Mrs. Longden

SOCIAL FEST CLASS BASKETS
Social Fest Class Baskets
30th Annual Social Fest - Held August 16, 2025 at Holy Trinity School
Silent Auction Class Baskets:
Class projects this year will be a basket provided by each class.
We are looking for one parent from each class to help with the organizing and execution of this auction item. We will be combining Middle School (6th-8th grade) as one basket.
Tasks include:
- Decide on a theme/idea for the basket
- Ask other class parents for items to fill the basket
- Email classroom teacher so they know what is coming and how to help
- Fill the basket and return to school by August 1, 2025 (If you can get it done by the end of the school year, that is great but not necessary to have it dropped off before school is over)
Each class basket should have a unique theme. The goal is for the entire class to help solicit the items to fill the basket. Maximum value of the basket would be $500. Please see how you can help. These baskets are typically great in our Auction! Ideas can be as simple as you'd like. Past ideas include Taste of Kewaskum/West Bend, Parents' Night Out, Snow Activities, Family Game Night, Grilling or even Sports! The mystery egg from last year was a huge hit.
We are asking that all parents participate in some way to support your class basket. Parents can purchase gift cards or items for the basket, or donate money that will go toward the purchase of items. Questions? Have an idea for a donation for your class basket?
If you are interested in helping with your child's class, please reach out to Mrs. Longden by April 25th.

Safe Environment Week
The Archdiocese of Milwaukee recognizes March 30th–April 6th as Safe Environment Awareness Week. Each year in the month of April, which is recognized around the country as child abuse prevention month, we dedicate a week to elevating the general awareness of the Church’s efforts to keep our children safe. We want people to know that we are committed to maintaining safe environments in our parishes and schools through adult child abuse prevention training; criminal background checks for all clergy, volunteers working with minors, and employees; safety training for children in each grade level; and adhering to all mandatory reporting requirement laws.
This year’s theme for Safe Environment week is: Working Together Towards Recognizing Abuse to Build Safe Communities.
Attached is the Proclamation from Archbishop Jeffrey Grob.
The below links have resources/informational handouts on child abuse prevention during the month of April and Safe Environment Week.
Safe Environment Did You Know...
Did You Know.....
The Safe Environment Program in the Catholic Church is not only making our parishes and schools safe places for our children, youth, and vulnerable adults. We hope that all clergy, employees, and volunteers' task themselves with protecting the young and vulnerable in their workplaces, neighborhoods, communities, and even their own homes. Our goal is greater than just safe environments within the four walls of our parishes and schools, but safer communities for all God's children to live, learn, and grow.
Did You Know....
All clergy, employees, and volunteers are instructed to contact local law enforcement of Child Protective Services immediately if they are made aware of a child being sexually abused. All bishops, priests, deacons, lay parish/school staffs, and volunteers are required to follow the mandatory reporting laws of the State of Wisconsin. In Wisconsin, all clergy and all school employees are considered mandatory reporters and can face legal penalties for failing to report suspected or known child abuse or neglect.
BLUE MONDAY MARCH 31st
This year join us at Holy Trinity Catholic School to mark our support for child abuse prevention by wearing the color blue on March 31st. Wearing blue helps remind us and encourage others to prevent child abuse and support healthy children and families.
Kewaskum Summer School
Summer school registration was a hit last night. We had over 200 registrations by 6:08 and within the first 30 minutes we had over 300. That is the most we have ever had in that time frame. We will respond to emails and phone calls by early next week. The registration link will remain open until April 16th. If you have any specific questions please feel free to reach out to Mrs. Ehmer at behmer@kewaskumschools.org.
