Key News for Families

Dear Families,

We have much to celebrate in the district in recent weeks. First, our referendum for a new and renovated Park View Middle School on November 5 was approved by the community's voters. As I mentioned in my email to you last week, the design and planning process will accelerate. Even though ground will not be broken until late 2025 or early 2026, our district team will be working behind the scenes to ensure a smooth and cost-efficient project. Watch our website and Key News throughout the process for updates and more information.

The weather has started to turn cooler which means that weather-related closures are always a possibility. Don't forget to review MASD's procedures for closing school due to extreme cold or unsafe roads.

Finally, congratulations to our students on our boys' and girls' cross country teams and our girls' volleyball teams for their memorable seasons, including advancing to state competitions. And also, congratulations to all of our students and staff involved in the last weekend's performance of Les Misérables. It was an incredible performance!

East Veterans Way in the Village of Mukwonago is closed at the railroad crossing near Clarendon Avenue Elementary due to road construction. The closure is expected to last up to two weeks. District families are asked to plan for delays until the construction is finished.

The Food Service Department is pleased to introduce My School Menus by Health-e Pro - a mobile app with interactive menus. My School Menus allows easy access to complete nutrition information for the school meal--anytime, anywhere.

View a real-time, map-based bus located for your child's bus route on your mobile device!

1. Download the Zonar MyView app from the App Store or Google Play.
2. Enter our district code (MASD1).
3. Enter your child's school ID number.
4. Create alert zones around drop-off and pick-up points.

When your child's bus enters an alert zone, you will receive notifications by email or text.

The Christmas Clearing Council of Waukesha County is now accepting applications for its 2024 Christmas assistance program. If you are a Waukesha County resident and need help during the upcoming Christmas season, complete your applications by November 15, 2024.
