HOLY ROSARY SCHOOL
NEWSLETTER | TERM 4 | WEEK 4 | 3 NOVEMBER 2023
Well done to Grace and Frankie, who both broke records at the CPSSA this term. They set a new record for both Year 3 and Year 5 girls turbo javelin! We are so proud of you both!
Both love and power are necessary building blocks of God’s peaceful realm on earth. Love utterly redefines the nature of power. Power without love is mere brutality (even in the church), and love without power is only the sentimentality of individual lives disconnected from the Whole. The gospel in its fullness holds love and power together, creating new hope and healing for the world.

Hi Everyone,
An amazing World Teachers Day Morning Tea on Wednesday! Rose Cosentino organised this on behalf of the P&F. We can’t thank you and Rose enough.
Running, swimming, riding, singing and more. What a week!
We celebrated Music with our Buddy Concert. This was not something we did last year, and it was a whole heap of fun! Really different, really enjoyable items. A big thankyou to Michelle Kirwan our teacher of Music who initiated the concert and did so much to prepare the children. It was a monumental effort.
And Hale Connect Triathlon on Tuesday followed by the Triathlon championships at Champion Lakes today rounded off another amazing week. A great teacher of Physical Education and great children giving it their all.
Enjoy the weekend

Staffing 2024 Update #1
Only one update is being mentioned today, the rest of the details are shared on November 17. This information is being shared now because the person concerned is connected to all of us.
Leanna Wightman, our remarkable Canteen Manager, is leaving us at the end of the year. It has been a difficult decision for her, but both for personal reasons, and for reasons of escalating compliance as required by Local, State and Federal authorities, Leanna is calling it a day. I know many of you will celebrate with Leanna at her Canteen Party on November 22. If you’re not, please swing by and catch up with her some time.
In conversation with Rose, President of our P&F, we know that nobody can replace Leanna, and this means a change of operations from February 2024. We have started to set things in place and will share more information with you in a few weeks. The big deal right now is to thank Leanna for a remarkable innings.
Cough Cough COVID
We have confirmed cases right across school, with 43 children away on Wednesday. We also have staff away. Thank you to the parents and guardians who have informed us of this and are keeping their children home. Vigilance is key. Please follow their example and keep children home if they are unwell. The last thing we need is a run of illness. Thanks very much for your support.

CPSSA Athletics Carnival
Exciting Day of Athletic Achievement at CPSSA A Division Athletics Carnival.
We are thrilled to share the incredible results of our talented athletes at the CPSSA A Division Athletics Carnival, which took place on October 26th at the State Athletics Stadium. Our students showcased exceptional skill, determination, and sportsmanship, making us proud beyond measure.
In a fiercely contested competition, Holy Rosary Primary School finished an impressive 2nd, coming in just 44 points behind the winners, Saint Columba. The final results are as follows:
1. Saint Columba: 5579 points
2. Holy Rosary: 5535 points
3. Our Lady of Grace: 5460 points
4. Mel Maria: 5345 points
5. Saint Peters: 5274 points
6. Saint Helena's: 5217 points
7. Saint Kieran: 5143 points
8. Ursula Frayne: 5067 points
Our athletes displayed unwavering determination and teamwork throughout the event, and their hard work truly paid off. Their outstanding performances in various events contributed significantly to our overall score, and we couldn't be prouder of their achievements.
A special mention to Frankie and Grace who broke the CPSSA records for Turbo Javelin. What a brilliant achievement, we are very proud of your efforts.
Thank you to our teachers, parents, and staff for their continuous support and encouragement.

Year 4 SciTech Excursion
The Year 4 excursion to SciTech was filled with curiosity, wonder and discovery. The students all loved the experience of the 3D space planetarium, the nature show and the variety of science experiments on offer. They were able solve a ‘who done it’ crime scene investigation using forensic skills. It was a great day had by all.
