Legislative Priority 2: Oppose Tax Credits and Vouchers for Private Schools
Legislative priorities, approved by the Blue Valley Board of Education, are crucial for advocating for our students, educators and community. The priorities address key issues needing attention from legislators. Proposed 2026-27 calendar introduced to Board
The proposed 2026-27 school calendar was introduced at the Jan. 13 Board of Education meeting. The board will vote on the calendar at the February board meeting.
Significant dates included in the proposed 2026-27 school calendar:
First day of school - Aug. 13
Fall Break - Nov. 23-27
Winter Break - Dec. 21-Jan. 5
Spring Break - March 15-19
Tentative Graduation Ceremonies - May 15-16
HS only finals - 1/2 day May 21, 24 & 25
Last day of school - May 25 for grades K-11
Memorial Day - May 31

We invite families, caregivers, staff and self-advocates from across the Kansas City metropolitan area to join us at the 15th annual Blue Valley Special Needs Resource Fair!

- Hilltop Conference Center (7700 W 143rd St., Overland Park, KS 66223)
This event offers an opportunity to connect with service providers who cater to a wide range of needs, including support for various disabilities, recreational camps, therapies, adaptive equipment, adult and transition services, financial and legal guidance, health and wellness programs and more.
