UPDATES
SGC camp took place from August 12-14. The Student Leadership Conference on August 15 was a success! It was well attended by representatives from Student Government Council, athletics, clubs and student mentors. Motivational speaker and Olympic athlete Noelle Lambert was an inspiration to all who were in attendance. Activities and workshops followed a quick dinner. Huge thanks to all students who participated in the event. Thank you to StuCo advisors Ms. Bartoloni and Ms. Diver, athletic director Mr. Kimball, and mentor leader Ms. Donovan for coordinating and participating in the event.
Football started on Friday, August 16 and all other fall athletics started on Monday, August 19. Best wishes for a successful season for all teams!
Band camp took place from August 19-21. In other band news, three RHS Band students were awarded scholarships to attend the 2024 South Shore Conservatory Summer Music Festival (SMF):
Seth Jesse, Joseph Quinn, and Zac Ryan. Congratulations to these outstanding musicians!
On Wednesday, August 21, the RHS Guidance Department hosted College Application Bootcamp. Counselors shared important information to help assist students as they prepare for the college application process. Thank you Ms. Black, Ms. Delaney, Mr. Devine and Ms. Morrison for coordinating this helpful event!
The vestibule project is nearly complete and will provide additional security for students and staff. Both the outer and inner doors at the main entrance will now be locked. Visitors will ring the bell as usual and will be let into the vestibule where they will greeted by administrative assistant Ms. Penney.

SCHOOL SUPPLIES
Rockland High School does not post general supply lists in advance of the start of the school year like they do at the elementary and middle school levels. Teachers will provide students with a list of needed supplies for the class once school starts on August 28. For the first day, students should come prepared with their chromebook, chromebook charger, a pencil/pen, notebook, and a folder.
NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION
All incoming freshmen and any students (and their families) new to Rockland High School are encouraged to attend Freshman/New Student Orientation, which will be held in the Rockland High School Auditorium from 6:30-8:00 PM on Monday, August 26. During this event, each incoming grade 9 student and their family will be presented with an overview of the high school experience from the student’s perspective and have a chance to tour the building with their schedule for the upcoming school year. Grade 9 students will also meet their upperclassman mentor and learn about the many opportunities to get involved at Rockland High School.
FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL AUGUST 28
School starts Wednesday, August 28 at 8:10 AM. Students should report straight to their period 1 A block class where back-to-school paperwork will be shared. Student assemblies will take place throughout the day as indicated. Please see the attached first day schedule. Student schedules are available in the Aspen portal. Any student having difficulty accessing their schedule should reach out to their guidance counselor or data manager Melissa Humphrey at mhumphrey@rocklandschools.org.
