Hello CBA Elementary Families,
Our 4th and 5th grade students spent the last few days on an incredible three-day trip to Washington, D.C., packed with hands-on learning and unforgettable experiences! The students and their families explored many of the city’s most iconic landmarks and historical sites. They started their journey with a visit to Capitol Hill, where they toured the U.S. Capitol building and gained a firsthand look at how our government works. Later, they marveled at the exhibits in the National Museum of Natural History.
The second day was equally eventful, with visits to the White House, the World War II Memorial, and a moving experience at Arlington National Cemetery, where our students witnessed the solemn Changing of the Guard and even participated in a wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The day continued with stops at the Lincoln, Korean War, and Vietnam Veterans Memorials, giving students a chance to reflect on the significance of these powerful symbols of sacrifice.
On the final day, students visited the National Museum of African American History and Culture and the Museum of American History, before wrapping up their trip with a stop at Ford’s Theatre, where they learned about the legacy of President Abraham Lincoln.
This trip was truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for our students to experience history up close, and we couldn’t be more proud of the way they engaged with each site. Next year, students will visit Williamsburg, Virginia!
Thank you CBA,
The CBA Elementary Team

Diwali at CBA Elementary
We are excited to celebrate Diwali on Monday, October 28th, from 1:00 to 3:10 pm. We are seeking families who celebrate Diwali and would love to share their traditions with our community.
Here are some ways you can help make this event a success:
- Provide traditional Diwali snacks or treats (must be prepackaged, store-bought, and peanut-free).
- Lead students in Indian dances (this was a huge success last year!).
- Assist in creating rangoli designs on the blacktop.
- Share photo booth accessories such as bindis, bangles, Indian stoles, backdrops, or any other items (please label with your child's name and class for easy return).
If you’re interested in volunteering for one or more of these activities, please click here to sign up.
Kindly confirm your participation by October 15th to help us plan effectively for the event.
We greatly appreciate your time and support in making Diwali a memorable celebration at CBA!
If you have any questions, feel free to email Mrs. Sareen at sonia.sareen@chesterbrookacademy.com.
A Message from our PAC
November Health Screenings
Dear CBA Families,
The PA Departments of Health and Education mandate annual student health screenings are provided as a part of the School Health Services Program. A WCASD nurse will be visiting our school on November 13th and 14th to perform these screenings for our students. A report with your child’s results will be provided for your review. We encourage you to keep this record and/or share with your physician. Referral letters will be sent when vision or hearing results do not meet the standard range of normal.
The standard screenings to be performed are listed below:
* Vision – Far & Near Acuity – All grades yearly, plus Lens & Color – 1st grade, Stereo/Depth Perception – 2nd grade.
NOTE: The vision screenings are not a substitute for a comprehensive eye examination by an eye care specialist. The American Optometric Association recommends eye examinations every two years during the school age years.
* Hearing - Grades K-3
* Height/Weight - All grades
* BMI - All grades
Please feel free to contact the WCASD school nurse at 484-266-1306 with any questions.
Thank you

- Place it in your yard where your neighbors can see.
- Snap a pic of your sign and share it on social media with #ProudToBeACBALion for a chance to be featured on our page!
