PRINCIPAL'S UPDATE
Dear Eagle Crest Families,
Welcome back to school! We’ve had an incredible first week, and I hope it felt just as good for you as parents to send your kids back into the routine of learning! Seeing our students’ smiling faces has been such a joy. Throughout the week, we’ve been reinforcing our RISE principles of Responsibility, Inclusivity, Safety, and Empathy. These are core to who we are as a community, and we will continue teaching and modeling these skills as the year unfolds.
We are also looking forward to a vibrant spring filled with learning, growth, and exciting events! Spring always brings a packed schedule of field trips, performances, and special activities. As a reminder, we require all adults visiting the school during the day or chaperoning field trips to complete our Eagle Crest-specific volunteer training. (If you’ve attended this training once during your child’s time at Eagle Crest, there’s no need to repeat it). This year alone, we’ve already trained over 75 volunteers! Below are some upcoming opportunities to join us for this important training:
January 10th – In-Person Volunteer Training, 9:00 a.m.
January 10th – Virtual Volunteer Training, 10:30 a.m.
January 13th – Virtual Volunteer Training, 6:00 p.m.
Thank you for being such an integral part of our Eagle Crest community. We love being part of your children’s lives and are excited to continue partnering with you for a fantastic year ahead.
Warmly,
Amanda

DEAN OF STUDENTS' UPDATE
Hello Eagle Crest Families!
We had an awesome week back at school, and it's been wonderful to see everyone’s happy faces again! With the wild windy winter weather settling in, here's a friendly reminder about our cold weather and snow policies:
Indoor Arrival Procedure: During extreme weather, we’ll shift to an “indoor arrival” 🌨️. Students will enter through the front doors and wait inside during the arrival window from 8:20-8:35 a.m. If indoor arrival is necessary, we’ll notify you by 8:00 a.m. through text and email. Please check your messages on those extra-cold mornings to stay informed! 📲 💬
Hug and Go Lane Reminder: For drop-offs only, please use the right lane, pull up as far as you can, and let your child out on the passenger side for safety. The left lane is for driving through—no stopping there. If you’d like to park and walk your child in, please use our parking lot or Clover Basin Drive. Thank you for keeping the morning drop-off safe and efficient! 🚗💨
Outdoor Recess: We plan to play outside in (almost) all weather situations, as we know that fresh air and outdoor play are great for both brain development and learning. Please make sure students are bundled up with layers; coats, hats, gloves, and boots are all perfect for those chilly days.
Lost and Found: Winter clothes tend to wander off, so please check the lost and found often to reclaim your family’s lost items before they are donated. 🧤❄️🥾
Playing in the Snow: Please keep in mind that once we start to see more snow on the ground, playing in the snow is allowed with boots on. Just a quick reminder: no snow throwing, playing on ice patches, or climbing any big snow mounds. Additionally, don’t forget to send tennis shoes for PE Days! ❄️🥾
Online Learning Days: While it hasn’t been super snowy so far this winter. When heavy snow is forecasted or subzero temperatures, your children will be bringing home their iPads as a precaution. Official decisions for Online Learning Days will be shared on our website and through messages to your IC contacts. 📱
Thanks for helping us keep everyone warm during this unpredictable winter weather! ❄️🥶☃️
All the best,
Lindsey Cheney
