Good evening, STMS Families,

This past week, I had the opportunity to join our students for the Creative Writing Celebration and Art Showcase. Watching our students display their talents simply made me happy as an educator. I truly appreciate everyone who came out to support our students and experience the amazing creativity they shared.

As we look ahead to the final week of the school year, we will take time to celebrate our 6th and 7th graders, as well as our 8th graders who are preparing to move on to high school. Families, please be sure to review our newsletter for important dates and details.

Reminder:

Thursday and Friday are half days. Student dismissal will be at 11:45 a.m. on both days.

I want to thank our entire STMS school community for a wonderful school year. As always, our students experienced success both in and outside of the classroom. They engaged in a wide range of opportunities—from the arts, to clubs and organizations, to athletics. I hope every experience helped them grow socially and academically.

This is our final newsletter of the year. To our 8th grade students and families—go be special and make us proud. Once a Wildcat… Always a Wildcat!

Saluda Trail Middle School...Where You Will Experience Excellence Without Excuse!

Dear 8th Grade Families,

We’re excited to celebrate our amazing 8th graders as they prepare to close out their middle school journey!

On Monday, May 19th, we will host an 8th Grade Picnic during the school day. Students who have purchased a yearbook will receive it at the picnic and will have time to get it signed by their peers. If your student has not yet purchased a yearbook, they will be available for purchase on Monday for $40 (while supplies last).

Students are also allowed to dress down for the day as part of the celebration.

Additionally, if you have not yet signed the permission slip for your student to walk to South Pointe High School for our Awards Ceremony practice, please do so as soon as possible.

The 8th Grade Awards Ceremony will take place on Tuesday, May 20th at 6:00 PM at South Pointe High School. Students should arrive by 5:00 PM to prepare for the event. We look forward to recognizing the accomplishments of our students and celebrating this important milestone with you!

We would like to extend a huge thank you to the families who generously donated items and support for the picnic—we truly appreciate your kindness in helping make this event special for our students!

All students' library books were due on May 16th. Students who have outstanding library books or fines for missing books have been notified by their Core 1 teacher. If any students still have books at home, please make sure they are returned to the school by Friday, May 23d.

Yearbooks will be distributed this Monday to all students who have already pre-paid.

There are a limited number of extra yearbooks remaining, so don’t miss out!

Please remember to pick up your child's medication by May 27, 2025 at 12:00PM. If you do not pick up the medication/s they will be destroyed and disposed of. If your child has an inhaler or Epi pen at the nurse, I will return it to the student/child before the school year ends. Parents will need to pick up ADHD/Stimulant medications.

Summer Workouts

Cross Country

Just a reminder that Summer Conditioning for Cross Country starts June 2, at the Winthrop Coliseum, 7:00 am -8:30. If you like to run, we are the group for you! If you think you might like to run but not sure how to start, we will train you! We welcome all levels, as long as the kids come ready to RUN!!! Our season starts the end of August, so take this opportunity to get you summer miles in so the season miles are quality miles! Reach out to Coach Trish if you are interested!!!
You need a physical, dated after 3/31/25, a Big Teams account, a water bottle, running shoes, and a great attitude!!!

Boys and Girls Volleyball
