We had a great first full week at Wass! The students are settling into their classroom routines and building community with their peers and teachers. Have a wonderful weekend!

• Tuesday, 9/17-5th grade field trip to Cranbrook
• Wednesday, 9/18-Picture forms will be sent home
• Monday, 9/23-School Pictures
• Tuesday, 9/24-Online Auction Ends
• Wednesday, 9/25-Half day for students (12:29 PM dismissal)

We have 2 drop off options:

1. Park and Walk
   1. Park your vehicle in the West parking lot and walk your child to his/her door. You MUST park in a spot designated as a parking spot. It is illegal to park in the parking spot noted in the picture to the right.
   2. Please reserve the handicap spots for those who need it and have the required handicap sign.
2. Drop and Go
   1. The circular lot furthest east is our drop and go lot. It is designated as a “Staff Only Parking lot” so you may not park your car here. You will pull into the circular drive and slowly pull forward all the way. A staff member or fifth grade safety will open your car door and greet your child. Once your child is out of the car, you may safely drive away, turning RIGHT only out of the circular drive.
   2. This is truly the best option for many children and for you as parents. The more children we have using the Drop and Go, the more spaces we have available in the West lot for those who need it and our preschool children who must be walked to their classroom door.

Reminders:

1. The circular drive directly in front of the building is a BUS ONLY lot. You may not park or drop off your child directly in front of the building.
2. If you have a PRESCHOOL or KINDERGARTEN child, it is a requirement that you walk your child to the door and wait for their teacher to welcome your child in.

The Wass Elementary PTO earned over $2200 from Kroger last school year!

The Wass PTO raises significant funds every year through your normal purchases at Kroger! These funds go right back into the classroom, directly impacting all Wass students. We held our first PTO meeting of the year this week where we discussed our budget and plans for the 2024-2025 school year! Some of that information will become available on our Wass PTO website through the district. Thank you for all those who were in attendance! We appreciate your investment in our kids!

Our PTO auction will go live at 8pm tonight and will run through 8pm next Friday! Make sure to check that out. Additionally, spirit wear is now open for ordering through the varsity shop and will run for a few weeks.

Our next outside of school events will include the Wass skating party on October 14th and Trunk-or-Treat on October 27th. We will be looking for volunteers to help with both of those so stay tuned for those opportunities in upcoming posts and howls!
