News from the PTO
Hi families!
Some exciting news this year for KECC is the formation of a PTO! What exactly is a PTO? High level, it is a parent-led organization (with teacher support) that acts as an extension of the school. PTOs consist of a volunteer group of parents/caregivers that exist to help their school specifically (ie. KECC PTO serves KECC only!) via fundraising and support efforts.
Some highlights from the first year:
1. The First Annual Glow Walk!
- This was held in February 2024 and was a great success! The students, teachers, staff, and parents/caregivers had the best time navigating the obstacle course and and dancing with our glow sticks! Thank you all for your generosity with donations and participation, we are already looking forward to next year!
2. Spirit Wear Sales!
- Did you know the proceeds from Spirit Wear sales go directly to the PTO/Principal's fund? That's right! When you purchase your Kings Spirit Wear online, select KECC and the proceeds will benefit the school directly. Proceeds from spirit wear purchases made on-site at KECC also directly benefit the school. Go Knights!
3. The Future Looks Bright!
- The KECC PTO already has the first big fundraiser of the 2024-2025 school year lined up! When school resumes in the fall, KECC will be participating in their first ever Mumkin Sale fundraiser! More details to come!
4. Putting your donations to good use! Below are some of the ways the PTO supported the school with the funds raised so far:
- Teacher Appreciation gifts: all KECC teachers and staff are receiving a Kings branded umbrella during Teacher Appreciate Week. The KECC PTO is also providing donuts for the entire KECC building during Teacher Appreciation Week!
- Outdoor play improvements: the KECC PTO has purchased a mud kitchen for the outdoor play area and it is expected to be installed over the summer. We know Principal Mary Beth Fosse is so very excited about this addition to the outdoor play area!
Want to get involved? Please reach out to Kristi Gerard (kristi.m.gerard@gmail.com) and Amanda Baird (alsnyder80@gmail.com)! We would love to grow the KECC PTO!
