Tumuaki Korero - Principal's Message
As my first term as Tumuaki of Inglewood Primary draws to a close, I am deeply grateful for the warm embrace extended to me by the children, staff, Board, and community. The professionalism, dedication, and hard work demonstrated by our staff have left a lasting impression on me. Rest assured, your children are in very capable hands.
This week, witnessing our tamariki push themselves beyond their comfort zones at camp brought me immense joy. Camps are a cherished highlight of our school year, and I'm certain there are many tired students, parents, and teachers. A heartfelt appreciation goes out to the incredible parent support that ensures our camps are well-supervised. And, of course, none of this would be possible without our exceptional team of teachers and staff, who truly are superheroes.
The recent opening of our pump track and the addition of new scooter storage have been met with resounding success. Plans for bike storage are also underway, enhancing our facilities further.
Strategic Plan 2024-2025
Our strategic plan, outlining the school's direction for the next two years, has been submitted to the Ministry of Education. These goals were formulated through extensive consultation with the community, staff, and students in 2023. Our three strategic objectives are:
- Growing and developing teaching and learning capabilities.
- Growing and developing students' learning dispositions needed to progress and success.
- Growing and developing the special character of our people and this place.
For a detailed overview, please visit our website.
Attendance
We diligently monitor student attendance, which currently stands at 91.7% present, 5.7% justified absence, and 2.7% unjustified absence for the term. Please ensure you notify the school if your child is absent to ensure accurate recording. Punctuality is crucial, and we appreciate your support in this matter. Should you have any concerns regarding your child's attendance, please do not hesitate to contact us for assistance.
Wishing you all a rejuvenating break, and we eagerly anticipate welcoming the children back on April 29.
Ngā mihi
