Principal's Corner
Dear Hirsch Hawk Parents and Guardians,
I want to extend a heartfelt thank you for the amazing turnout at our Meet the Teacher event and Annual Back to School Block Party! It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces and to welcome our newest Hawks into the Hirsch family. Your energy and enthusiasm set the perfect tone for what promises to be an incredible school year.
As we prepare to officially kick off the 2024-2025 school year, I wanted to share a few important reminders for the first day of school, which is this Wednesday, August 14th:
Arrival:
Parents and guardians will be allowed to walk students to their classrooms on the first day of school only. Our schoolhouse doors will open at 7:35 a.m., and free breakfast will be available for all students, served in the classroom. At 8:00 a.m., we will begin securing our building and exterior doors, so please ensure you arrive on time.
Class Lists:
Class lists will be posted in the main hallway, as well as in grade-level halls, to help you locate your child's teacher. Staff members will be available throughout the building to assist you and your child.
Registration:
If your child’s name is not listed on the class roster, please visit the registration center in the cafeteria. Our staff will be ready to assist you in completing the registration process.
Car Rider Tags:
For your child's safety, a car rider tag is required to pick up your child from the car rider line. If you do not have a tag yet, please come by the school starting Monday at 7:35 a.m., with your ID. Tags will be issued between 7:35 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Parents without a car rider tag will need to show their ID in the front office in order to pick up their student and obtain a tag.
Walkers:
Students who walk home will be dismissed after car riders and will be escorted to the designated exit by school staff. Please ensure your child knows the route home and that you have discussed safety precautions with them. More transportation specifics can be found by clicking **HERE**.
Patience with Dismissal:
Please keep in mind that many parents choose to drive their children to school on the first day. This, combined with the addition of new students to our building, often results in longer wait times in the car rider line during the first few days. We appreciate your patience as we work diligently to ensure all students get home safely. Rest assured, the car rider line will speed up significantly after the first week.
I am excited to begin this new chapter with all of you and look forward to the many great things we will accomplish together this year.
We are looking forward to an incredible school year and can’t wait to see you all soon. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at (281)891-8330.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership.
Warm regards,
Mrs. LaToya Patterson
