ELEMENTARY INFORMATION
Note from our Elementary Principals
Dear Families,
We have a lot of great things happening at our school, and I wanted to share a few updates with you.
First, we’re getting really excited for our Princess Ball coming up on Wednesday, May 1st, from 6:00–7:30 PM! It’s going to be a special night, and we would love to see as many of our families there as possible. If you haven’t picked up your tickets yet, they’re available at the Jr. High front desk. This will be a night to remember, and we hope you’ll join us!
Next week, we’re also taking some time to celebrate some very important people who do so much for our school:
Monday: Our amazing secretaries, Mrs. Natalie Short and Mrs. Hellen Jackson — they truly keep everything running behind the scenes and take such great care of our students and families.
Tuesday: Mrs. Sarah Sorensen, our Title I Director, who works hard every day to make sure our teachers and students have what they need to be successful.
Wednesday: Ms. Malea Simmons, our Instructional Coach, who supports both students and teachers and makes a big difference in classrooms every day.
Thursday: Our incredible lunch staff, along with our amazing lunch director, Lindy Johnson, who not only feed our kids but also brighten their days with a smile.
These are the people who help make our school a place where kids feel safe, supported, and loved. They are a huge reason we are successful and we couldn’t be more grateful for them!! If you have a moment next week, a simple thank-you note or word of appreciation would mean the world to them.
We are also right in the middle of End-of-Year Testing, and I just want to say again how proud I am of our students. They are working hard, staying focused, and showing all the growth they’ve made this year. Thank you for encouraging them at home — it truly makes a difference.
And finally, we’re looking forward to our 5th Grade Track Meet on Tuesday, April 29th at 9:45 AM! We’d love to see you out there cheering on our students. It’s always a fun and proud moment to watch them give it their all. We also want to recognize our 3rd and 4th graders who competed this past week — they did an amazing job, and we couldn’t be prouder!
Thank you for everything you do to support our school! If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to reach out to us. We hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!!

SECONDARY INFORMATION
Note from our Principal - Amanda Kuhnz
ALA Families,
As we enter the final four weeks of the school year, I want to thank and congratulate our students and staff for all of the accomplishments they have had to get us to this point - making it through about 135 days of school. Well done! We are proud of you all! We are approaching the finish line and I want to encourage all students to prepare. Prepare for the last few weeks because they are critical—final exams, final projects, and final chances to demonstrate the growth and learning each student has worked so hard to achieve.
Keep it up! Now is the time to double down on your efforts, ask for help when you need it, and take advantage of the resources available to you. Whether it’s making up missed assignments, improving your attendance, or getting extra help in a subject that’s been challenging, we’re here to support you. Our doors are open before and after school, and we have opportunities on Fridays for students to catch up and move forward.
This time of year also reminds us of the values that make us strong—devotion, perseverance, and commitment. These are not just academic values, but patriotic ones as well. Patriotism, as part of our R.I.S.E. U.P. motto, is more than waving a flag or singing a song; it’s showing up, doing your part, and giving your best effort for the good of your community and your future. When you commit to your education and your responsibilities, you are living out those ideals.
