Eagle Pride Newsletter
Dear ACMS Families,
As we conclude the first three weeks of the school year, we would like to express our appreciation for your continued support and cooperation. We hope that your child is adjusting well to the new academic year and finding their groove within our school community.
At this juncture, we want to emphasize the importance of seeking assistance promptly if your child is facing any challenges with their classes. It is essential to address any struggles they may be experiencing before they become overwhelmed. Therefore, we strongly encourage students to attend tutoring sessions if they are finding certain subjects difficult. Also, if you feel at this point that a parent/teacher conference is also warranted you are always welcome to reach out to our teachers and they will set that up for you both.
By taking proactive steps now, we can help ensure that our students are equipped to succeed academically. We are committed to fostering a supportive and enriching learning environment, and your active involvement in your child's education is crucial to our collective success.
As we continue to settle into our routines and procedures, we remain focused on facilitating a successful and productive school year for all our students. Thank you for entrusting us with your child's education, and please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any concerns or questions.
Enjoy a fabulous Labor Day weekend, and we will see our students on Tuesday, Sept. 3rd.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Obenhaus
Principal

Important iPad Message
Parents and Guardians, we still have over 200 students who have not paid for their insurance on their iPads. The deadline to pay is tomorrow at 12:00 a.m. After that point, we will collect iPads from students with outstanding insurance fees
Nurse Hopper
We have seen an increase in students coming to school without eating breakfast. It is very important to take the time to eat a good breakfast before coming to school not only for your physical well-being but also for your brain! Not having enough time to eat breakfast is not an excuse to skip breakfast, get up earlier. You are in Middle School and must be responsible for taking care of yourselves, that means doing all you can to be ready for a day full of learning and activity. In addition to eating a good breakfast, please don't forget to bring your water bottle every day!
Thank you!

Counseling Information
In Lewisville ISD, the whole child is at the core of everything we do as a district, including our students' mental, emotional and physical health. With counselors on every campus, LISD knows parents want their children to receive an outstanding education, but more importantly, they want their children to be nurtured and cared for beyond just academics.
The Lewisville ISD Counseling and Social Work Department is grateful to partner with you to support the social emotional needs of all LISD students. We believe education on these issues is key to helping our students become happy, successful people.
Please review these flyers describing different social issues our students may face. If you have any areas that we may assist you or your student, please contact your student’s school counselor.
We appreciate the opportunity to work with your students.

Resources for Parents
Absence Portal
Parents should provide a note, documenting the reason for the absence, to the school immediately upon the child’s return, and not later than three days after the absence. If the child was seen by a health care provider, a note from that provider is always preferred. If the student was present PART of the school day and missed the remainder for a health care appointment, a note from that provider should be given to the school within 3 days. In this circumstance, the time away from school is NOT considered an absence.
Check Out Procedure
If you need to check out your child early, please email our attendance clerk, Susan Lee, that morning, if possible. Her email address is LeeSusan@lisd.net
When you arrive at the school, you will need to ring the doorbell and show your driver's license to gain entry to the building. Once you are inside It will take a few minutes for us to send for your child, so please plan accordingly if you are headed to an appointment. We will not call students out of class before your arrival.
**PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE GIVEN PICK-UP PERMISSIONS IN SKYWARD TO EVERY PERSON YOU INTEND TO PICK UP YOUR CHILD, INCLUDING EMERGENCY CONTACTS. You can edit this information in the 2024-2025 Forms Packet in Skyward Family Access. There are individual boxes that must be checked in order to give pick-up permissions.
Building Entry Time
8:15 a.m. Students will not be able to enter the building before that time. This is a change from previous years.
Cell Phone Policy
Students will be required to put personal devices/cell phones away in their backpack from the time they enter the building in the morning until the dismissal bell.
You can reach your student through their school email address or by calling the front office if it's an emergency.
