All SWAG times are after school. Only one team member needs to attend each one, but all team members are welcome. Also, the person that attends must come back and train the team. Your SPED/ Specialists teammates can represent your team as well.
Register in Eduphoria. Each team represented will get a jeans pass (after I receive the sign-in from the coordinators).
Regular Schedule Attire
Fridays: Jeans w/ Gideon shirt
Progress report/ report card days: Jeans w/ college shirt
1st Monday of every month: #ColorsforCaring: jeans w/ cancer color or cancer shirt
(Next #ColorsforCaring: September 9th, color is orange)
Collecting Money
Money Tabulation Form or explanation if you’re new on how to fill out. If you have any questions or are unsure, Carol can walk you through it. The District is serious about money and being able to track it.
!. Student Group: for Spirit Shirts, put Activity Fund. If this is a field trip, put (grade level) Field Trip
2. Teacher: Print your name
3. Purpose: Spirit Shirts. If this is a field trip, destination
4. Mark off Cash or Check, depending on what is being turned in.
5. Student Name
6. If a check is being turned in, who is signing the check and print their name
7. If a check, fill in the check number
8. And the total amount being turned in
If both check & cash, check both boxes, fill in check number and total amount being deposited.
9. Total all monies being turned in
10. Break down the cash: how many of each bill and total amount of that denomination. If there are $2 bills, mark out a denomination not being turned in or write it off to the side.
11. Add up the bills and put amount in “Cash” under “Total Amount” on the left side.
12. Total up any coins and fill it in under “Total Amount”.
13. Total up all checks and put that in under “Total Amount”.
14. Cash, Coins and Checks total must match total at the bottom.
15. And sign at the bottom.
Take money to Carol when you are able to stay and count with her, so we both agree what you’re bringing in is what I have turned in.
Per the Districts “Money 101”, money must be turned in daily. Never send a student to the office with this form and money. Never leave money on my desk, chair or box outside the door.
Carol would highly recommend when parent send a student to school with money, e-mail them back to let them know you received it and have turned it in for a deposit.
Week of August 19 Reminders:
- Go over drills with your kids
- Teacher should be at the end of the line to ensure door is closed
- Treaty Agreements created and posted
- All signed docs due back on Friday

Campus/ Classroom Visitors form
- observe in the classroom
- help with lunch/ recess duty
- volunteer on campus
- be a guest speaker
- have a parent conference (background not needed, but this let's us know you are expecting them)
Your completion of this form helps the front office with knowing that it is okay to send the parent down to your classroom. Also, any adult whom is volunteering must have a cleared background check on file, so this will help to ensure that the parents have it in prior to their scheduled date.

Lunch Policy
- Be on the child's emergency/ family list in Skyward
- Sign in with a receptionist
- wear the name tag (sticker) in a visible place
- only invite their child to the visitor's table
- follow the grade level schedule; they need to say goodbye when the team is leaving the cafeteria. The student needs to leave with the team.
Remind students:
- No friends go to the visitor table with them
- Never open the door for anyone (not even their own parents).

August 26th: (K- 2nd) Small Group Tutoring
- Ms. Janzen, Ms. Kara, & Ms. Kameron will begin working with small groups independently
- The 1st three weeks are limited to those students with identified gaps (like those whom have been retained, or close to it)
- Have a plan for what you need them to do
- Have the resources ready that you need them to use

- should be from a quality assignment, not a random worksheet

To Submit a Substitute Concerns
There is a new district process. Mrs. Sneed wants to know the day of and no later than the next day. If it’s beyond a day, there needs to be a good reason for the delay.

Annual Title 1 Parent Information Meeting.
Gideon teachers and team members will discuss home- school partnerships, behavior expectations, & grade level content & expectations. Light refreshments will be served, and a movie will be played in the library for our students.
6:00- 7:30 pm (Two shows: 6:00 & 6:45 pm)
Teachers will be in their classrooms. If departmentalized, teams should present together. Mrs. Charles will keep families for the first 15 min of each shift to go over data and Title 1.

*Summer reading prizes will be awarded on this night. Encourage students to submit completed logs. Winners must be present!

Meet in the campus library and get excited about PD! All meetings are BYOD; I'll provide waters.
Monday: AM: PD, PM: Team Meetings (Leads, SPED, CAMP, Specialists). You'll have time in the afternoon to set up team hallway bulletin boards in the theme of: "Learning is my Super Power!" Chat with the team about the your super hero/ shero boards so that you are ready to decorate Monday afternoon.
Tuesday: All day PD
Wednesday: Convocation- meet in the breezeway by 7:15 am (everyone rides bus together, text Charles with questions), shirts will be provided by district. Afternoon- PD
Thursday: PD
Friday: District- wide PD (check eduphoria for updated locations). Help new teammates register in Eduphoria.

The Results Are In!
Gideon Gators performed very well on this past STAAR. Because of the hard work that our teachers, tutors, and students put in this year, our campus scores increased in all areas: Reading, Math, & Writing. Way to go Gators!
Be on the lookout for an email stating when you will be able to pick up your son/ daughter's individual test scores. To look them up online, have his/ her social security number, and visit:
Sad News...
We are saddened to share that our superintendent, Dr. Vaszauskas, has announced his retirement. His last day will be February 5, 2020.
