A Message from the Principals
Dear Pine Brook Families,
We have been so lucky to have the warm weather stay with us for a little bit longer and our Panthers have been lucky to spend more time outside! This weekend marks the start of the fall season so we thought we would share some fall learning activities to do with your Panther!
Nature Walks: Having students explore during nature walks helps students learn about the changing seasons and learn more about Rochesterβs native flora and fauna. Ask them what they notice about the leaves on the ground vs. the leaves on the trees.
Reading Under the Trees: Combine the joy of reading with the beauty of nature and take the reading outside this weekend!
Fall Art Projects: Spark curiosity by getting creative with fall art projects! Create leaf rubbings or autumn collages to bring the spirit of fall into your home.
Make sure you mark your calendars for our upcoming Open Houses on October 2nd and 3rd. The PTSA will be hosting a movie night at Pine Brook on October 9th. Stay tuned for more fun fall events and celebrations at Pine Brook!
Enjoy the weekend!
Andrea and Allie

π Early Childhood Update π
This week in ARC Core our classrooms are growing as communities of readers and writers. Students are falling in love with reading through books that are too good to resist, a community of peers who read and talk about books together, and a teacher who believes in them and helps them develop reading passions and reading skills. As your teachers are getting to know the readers in their classrooms and find their best fit books, be on the lookout for IRLA Skill cards to learn more about your childβs reading level!
If You Missed It!
The first week of school edition of the Pine Brook Press can be found here! There was a technological glitch and some families may not have received it in their emails.

π± Who to Call π±
Who to Call With Questions is a Resource for Families
Building trust and ensuring that there are open lines of communication between home and school are essential for student success. We want to be sure you know who to contact with questions or concerns. In December, the district shared a new resource for families. In case you missed it, this linked Who to Call with Questions, Concerns and Compliments reference guide is a step-by-step guide families can use to ensure questions are answered quickly and effectively. Please refer to it whenever you need to speak to someone about your childβs progress. Whether your inquiry is about academics, safety, or services and supports, there are people at the school and district level who are ready to help whenever a question or concern arises.
For Step 1 concerns at Pine Brook, please start with the person closest to the situation. They should be able to help you navigate the situation. If the concern rises to a Step 2, please contact the Assistant Principal. For your convenience there is a list below of contacts at Pine Brook:
