AHS Educator Recognized at Board Meeting
Danny Wilcox, AHS
On June 13, Mr. Wilcox turned in a signed contract and texted me: “Can’t wait to get started! Go Indians!” Since that time, there has been no equal to his passion and commitment to seeing all scholars at Alvarado achieve in whatever form that excellence looks like for them. He has been a team player, helping our new educators learn how to plan and guiding new-to-Biology educators through the ins-and-outs of the course. He is wrapped up in data, and his expectations for his scholars are second to none. In fact, one of my favorite facts about Mr. Wilcox is his class expectations poster that is the first thing scholars see when they enter the room. The first expectation reads: 100% of scholars will pass. Thus, there is no room to hide; there is no space to not get better; there is only a place to grow in his classroom.
School HR Day
School Human Resources Day was last month (Oct. 11), however the Board did not get a chance to recognize them at that time. MaryAnn Wood, Melissa Cornell and Jaymee Pollard each received a certificate Monday night stating, "Honoring (name) for invaluable contributions made in fostering educational excellence in this community and the state of Texas."
