Principal's Message
Dear Dolvin Families,
Supporting our district’s overall safety messaging, the FCS Communications division has created a Fulton County Schools' digital campaign based on the GBI’s “Report, Don’t Repost.”
“Report, Don’t Repost” aims to help students and families to understand the importance of reporting threats seen on social media, rather than reposting them. In today's digital age, harmful content can spread quickly, creating panic and confusion. By encouraging our community to report threats directly to local authorities or use our anonymous tip line, simultaneously helping to prevent the spread of misinformation. Students also need to understand passing along threats online slows down police investigations and could result in charges to them.
Key points to emphasize:
- If you see or hear a threat on social media, report it to local authorities immediately.
- You can also Report a Safety Concern anonymously at www.fultonschools.org/tipline.
- Do not post on social media where it can cause confusion and put you at risk.
Thank you,
Andy Stein

Spring Milestone scores have begun to populate in SLDS. Parents can access Georgia Milestones student score reports for the Spring 2023-2024 test administration by logging into Georgia SLDS. Remember the Math scores are still embargoed until the state lifts the embargo. We do not anticipate the Math scores will appear for parents until the embargo is lifted. Please send your child to school with everything they need to have a successful day! Lunches, water bottles, homework, snacks, devices, etc., should arrive with your student in the morning to avoid interruption of instructional time. If a child arrives in the cafeteria without a lunch, they will be allowed to purchase one. Thank you and we appreciate your understanding.

Direct Giving
Our fall fundraiser has concluded, and thanks to our DolvINcredible families and staff, we met our goal for this year! We can’t wait to supply all the important tech our classrooms need, from new wireless screencast adapters for all teachers, to several critical apps our school uses every day, and more. Thank you again for your support!
Now the fun really begins for our donor families as we kick off our incentive events! Our first event is the Principal’s Playground Ice Cream Party, this Friday, Sep. 20! Parents of students who qualified should receive an email from their child’s teacher with more information.
Please SAVE THE DATE for these other fabulous events your family may have qualified for:
- Discovery Lab Family Night
o Weds, October 23 from 5:00-6:00 PM
- Afterschool Maker Space Day
o Weds, October 30 from 2:30-3:30 PM
Grants, Headphones, Apps, & Spirit Shirts - oh my!
We're thrilled to announce that we kicked off the new schoolyear by providing:
- $5,000 in Grants to ALL classrooms - including extra funds for all Specials, ESOL, TAG, EIP, SEC3, & Counseling!
- Backup Headphone Sets for all homerooms
- Renewal of the XtraMath and BreakoutEDU apps for all students
- FREE Spirit Shirts for the entire school!
Grants totaling $5,000 were distributed to teachers in the form of Lakeshore Learning or Staples gift cards. Ask your child’s teacher what exciting new "wish list" resources and projects these funds will make possible!
Did you hear? The Foundation donated sets of 6 backup headphones to each homeroom, complete with storage bins and teacher labels to help protect this investment.
We also renewed the popular math fluency app, XtraMath, for another year. It's used throughout the school, and families can access it at home through Classlink as well. We also are covering the renewal ofBreakoutEDU, a fantastic app that creates custom virtual “breakout room” puzzles that teachers love to use both as a teaching tool and as a reward for our students!
Finally, the Foundation's "Make a Splash" Spirit Shirts have been distributed to all grades - your child should have theirs now. (If not, please contact your child’s teacher.) Students use these shirts THROUGHOUT THE YEAR for special events, so please keep track of them; replacements may not be available. Big thanks to our wonderful '24-25 Sponsors for making them possible!
Cafeteria Sound Cloud Updates
If you’ve been wondering, "Where are the Sound Clouds?" - rest assured, the Foundation has been working hard on this project behind the scenes, and all money raised for this project is still on hand and earmarked to fund it.
The Foundation feels that it's imperative to be good stewards of the money we receive, and we want this project to achieve the vision and value we anticipated for our school. Though we'd hoped to begin installation during the '23-24 schoolyear, we feel strongly that it's better to take time to get it right, rather than rush to meet an aspirational deadline. The first three vendors we engaged unfortunately did not meet expectations - but now we’re working with a new vendor who has shown a real understanding of our needs and budget. We will be working with them on design drawings soon.
We can't wait to present the results of this project to you, and we thank you for your patience in the meantime. And if you have experience in construction or commercial buildings, and you're interested in helping with this project or others in the future - contact us today!
