Weekly Devotion
Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.” Proverbs 16:3
In today’s fast-paced world, it’s easy to become consumed by our to-do lists, goals, and aspirations. We often create plans for our lives based on what we believe is best, but God invites us to consider a more profound approach: committing our work to the Lord. What does it mean to commit our plans to God, and how does this influence the outcome of our endeavors?
To commit means to entrust or dedicate. When we commit our work to the Lord, we are acknowledging His sovereignty over our lives and inviting Him into every aspect of our plans. This is not just a casual request. It is a deliberate act of surrender, where we release our control and let God guide our steps. Our plans may be well thought out, but without God’s blessing, they can fall short of His perfect will.
By committing our work to the Lord, we align ourselves with His purpose. This does not mean that all our plans will go exactly the way we envision. Instead, it assures us that when our plans are rooted in Him, He will bring them into fruition according to His will.
Friends, God often has a much bigger picture in mind than we do. Our plans may be ambitious, and they might seem right in our eyes, but we need to ask ourselves: Are they in line with God's will? When we dedicate our work to God, we are placing our desires in His hands, trusting Him to establish them in His perfect timing.
As you commit your work to the Lord today, remember the assurance that He will establish your plans. May your heart find rest in knowing that when you walk in alignment with His will, He is faithful to bring to fruition the hopes He has placed within you. Embrace this partnership with God; in doing so, your work will not only flourish but also reflect His divine purpose.
In Christ,
