The Labors of Hercules Beal
Dinner and Discussion with Mrs. Patterson
- We are happy to announce that we will return to a favorite Doughty tradition of hosting a dinner and book discussion event to be held the evening of Thursday, January 23, 2024 from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m.
- We have chosen the book, The Labors of Hercules Beal, by the wonderful author Gary Schmidt, as it is one of this year’s Maine Student Book Award nominees, but most importantly tells the story of a twelve year old boy, Hercules (or Herc for short) who while performing the Twelve Labors of Hercules in real life for a school project, discovers important things about family, community and the importance of friendship.
