A Note from the Office
Unity Day was a big success, and it was wonderful to see our school community come together to promote kindness, acceptance, and inclusion! At both home and school, kindness plays a crucial role in shaping a positive environment. It helps build strong relationships, boosts self-esteem, and creates a safe space where everyone feels valued. Thank you for your ongoing support in fostering these important values in our students. Together, we can continue to make our community stronger and kinder!
Be well,
Evan Chelman, Principal

Parmenter School Council Members Needed
As the year is getting underway, we will be re-establishing the School Council at Parmenter School. This is an advisory group that meets monthly with the school's administrative team. The Council provides invaluable feedback about the school's goals and assists with reviewing the school's handbook and improvement plan.
The Council, once created, will schedule the 5 meetings that must take place during the school year.
If you are interested in joining the Parmenter School Council, please complete this form and if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. If you have previously been on the Parmenter School Council and would like to continue, please send me an email and we look forward to continuing to work with you. chelmane@franklinps.net
K, 1, and 2 Literacy Mornings
Book Fair: October 21-29
Get ready—the Scholastic Book Fair is coming to Parmenter, October 21-29. This is a great opportunity to connect with your child over the thrill of bringing home new books to dive into again and again. Studies show that kids read more when they choose books for themselves. And fostering a love of independent reading leads to a wide variety of benefits—including academic success and improved mental health.
Here’s everything you need to know about the Book Fair:
Dates: Oct 21st - Oct 29th - During class Library Times
Location: Parmenter Library
Family Event schedule and location: Pumpkin Stroll October 23rd 6pm-7:30
There’s even more info on our school’s Book Fair homepage:
https://www.scholastic.com/bf/parmenter
While you’re there, set up a Book Fair eWallet, the digital payment account that allows your child to shop for books at the Fair without cash. Then share your eWallet link so friends and extended family can add funds.
When you fund an eWallet, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to a giving initiative called Share the Fair™. Your contributions directly support our students who need help buying books
from the Fair. We also intend to "round up" each purchase. This not only makes the math simpler for students, but each, small donation goes to the school. Thank you, in advance.
