PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE - Mr. Goodrich
Nederland Middle-Senior HS Community,
It seems like we have been back to school for a month (it's only been four days). On Tuesday we started the new BVSD cell phone policy and we’ve only had one phone come down to the office. Not one student's head has burst and we’ve not encountered any tears. On Tuesday and Wednesday Mr. DePaula and myself went to student classrooms and explained the new policy and how it works. We are striving to remind students to put away their phones. The first time they have a phone out they get a warning; the second time it comes to the office for the rest of the day; the third time parents come to the school to pick it up. This is the process across the school district.
The students have handled the transition very well. Both middle and high school students have been talking and interacting with each other, they have been playing board games and cards and managing their free time very appropriately. We are all looking forward to next week.
Have a great weekend,
Gavan

High School Alpine had their first race at Copper Mountain yesterday, and High School Nordic had their first race in Aspen today. On Wednesday, High School Basketball played here at home versus Twin Peaks, and we are thrilled for our girls’ team to get their first win of the season!
Come cheer on your Panthers next week. We have home basketball games versus Addenbrooke on Wednesday 1/15. Boys JV plays at 4 pm, Girls JV at 5:30 pm, and Boys Varsity at 7 pm. Go Panthers!
