Dr. Takesha Leonard is both a board-certified Christian Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC) and a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with a great interest in community health and decreasing health disparities in under-resourced communities. She obtained her BSN from the State University of New York at Buffalo (UB) in 2001 and subsequently received her MSN, FNP followed by her Doctorate in Health Policy/Health Administration from D'Youville College. She has been practicing family medicine for the past 14 years at Jericho Road Community Health Center founded by Dr. Myron Glick and works as a PMHNP at Gateway-Longview.

Dr. Leonard is excited to speak to our graduating class with her overall message centered on empowering, inspiring, and uplifting the next generation of leaders.
MSM Senior Will be Featured Twirler for the Marshall University Marching Band
Congratulations to senior Mackenzie Wright who will attend Marshall University in West Virginia and will be the Featured Twirler for the Marshall University Marching Band!
Mackenzie's passion for competitive baton twirling has enhanced the MSM Marching Band during her four years at the Mount and she was named the first-ever captain of the Twirlers this year! Mackenzie's leadership and love of the sport led her to this incredible opportunity and we are so proud; congratulations Mackenzie! We applaud your hard work and many accomplishments throughout your time at MSM!
We look forward to cheering you on in all your future endeavors!

Psychology Students Treated to Some Special Visitors in Class!
From the Desk of Mrs. Held-Hulsing:
As part of our unit on Child Development in Psychology, we had some special guests visit our class! Students had the opportunity to play with and observe Mrs. Fleck's adorable preschooler and twin babies! Based on their studies of Child Development, students were able to observe and discuss the physical, cognitive, and social milestones that babies are expected to reach by certain ages.
The students were then able to interact with the babies in the classroom, play with their favorite toys and books, and watch them explore.
Thank you to Mrs. Fleck for sharing her beautiful family with us!
Help Support MSM's STEAM Classes With New or Gently Used Items
Attention MSM families! If you or anyone you know is tackling a spring cleaning project, please keep our STEAM classes in mind if you find any of the items listed below! Our STEAM classes will put these items to good use and your donations ensure that MSM's STEAM classroom remains a vibrant and well-equipped environment for learning.
We will gratefully accept donations of the following items:
- Knitting Supplies - Students will learn to knit and relate knitting to coding. Supplies required include old knitting needles, and balls of yarn (half used balls of yarn are perfect).
- Sewing Supplies - Students will engineer their own patterns and sew items for themselves and/or Barbie dolls. We need fun interesting fabrics, fat quarters, and thread. We would also greatly appreciate one or two unused sewing machines.
- LEGO - One of our goals for next year is to build a Rube Goldberg Machine out of LEGOS to enter the ECC Tech Wars Competition. We would be grateful for donations of old, unloved LEGOS sitting in basements; our STEAM students will put them to good use!
If you are able to donate, please send the items to school with your student. Thank you in advance for your continued support and dedication to our MSM STEAM programs!
