A MESSAGE FROM MR. LUCITA
Dear Jaguar Band Families,
Welcome back, everyone! We hope all of our Jaguar Band members and their families had a wonderful Spring Break! Now, let’s jump into the upcoming week and discuss all of the exciting things Jaguar Band!
The final two Wind Ensemble after-school rehearsals have been moved from Tuesday afternoons to Monday afternoons from 5 - 8 p.m. starting this week. Please make that adjustment to your calendar!
Tuesday afternoon from 5 - 7 p.m. will be our first New Member Marching Camp. This camp will teach the basics of marching to our rising eighth-grade students and any returning members who did not get to march this fall. We also want this to be something exciting, enjoyable and memorable for these students who will be the next extension of our Jaguar Band Family! All Current SLT are required to be present for this camp, as well as any students that are wanting to be an SLT this coming fall.
This week we also have our Pre-UIL Concert Festival held at the Hays CISD PAC. All three of the Johnson Bands will perform Thursday during the school day. The bands will be bused from JHS to the PAC round trip using Charter Buses. The students will be excused from school for the periods during which they will be performing. Each Band will give their students a detailed schedule for their departure and return times. As well, teachers will be notified of classes that will be missed. Additionally, all students will be provided lunch by the JHS Food Services Department. Unfortunately, due to Covid policies, no audience will be allowed into the PAC for this festival.
This week Winter Guard will have practice Monday, Thursday, and Friday. They complete their week with a contest at Georgetown High School on Saturday. Since there are multiple Winter Guard groups the students will be given specifics of times for each group. Tickets go on sale Monday morning, 9am at https://www.texascolorguardcircuit.org/events/30238.
Percussion Camp is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon from 5 - 7 p.m. for all 2022 Johnson Percussionists. This camp is vital for the placement of all percussionists for the fall season. Again, the camp is for all current JHS Percussionists as well as our rising eighth-grade percussionists for DMS & MMS.
It is an extremely busy week with lots of events happening. Parents and students, please verify which items pertain to each student and make sure everyone is where they are supposed to be and at the correct time!

Band Sponsorships and opportunity to put Student names on trailer!
The Johnson Jaguar Band depends in large part on the fundraising efforts of the Band Boosters. Sponsorships are a very important part of fundraising. Our Sponsorship levels have been updated, and we have a lot of exciting options for businesses AND families! We ask that every family please share this brochure with anyone you know that has a business. We are eager to help promote businesses in our community that support the Jaguar Band! If you would like color copies of our Sponsorship Brochure, we are happy to provide them.

A new addition to our Sponsorship options is the Friends and Family Level. This level offers various options for businesses as well as an option for band families: For $200, you can have your child’s name and graduation year on our band trailer indefinitely with the option to simultaneously add sibling name for an additional $100.

8th Grade Spring Camps
8th grade and high school percussion camp continues.
8th grade camps for woodwinds and brass will be starting soon!
8th grade camps for the Jaguar Guard (JAGuard) will start in March!
*These camps are not mandatory but they will definitely give your student a strong start to the 2021 marching season! It's a great opportunity to meet 9-11th grade students and have fun!

The band directors and boosters primarily rely on Charms to communicate information. Make sure your information is up to date in Charms. Reminder that the Jaguar Band school code is: JohnsonJaguarBand
