I hope this message finds you well as our busy end of the year season approaches.
In light of Dr. Cherniss’ resignation on April 15, 2025, the Board of Education has partnered with The Cosca Group, an Executive Search Firm, to support our efforts to recruit the next superintendent of PYLUSD.
The Board’s goal is to appoint a new superintendent by early September. As part of the pre-recruitment process, The Cosca Group will meet with stakeholder groups, administer an online survey, and host town hall meetings. These opportunities are designed to gather your input regarding the qualities and experience you believe are essential for our next district leader.
Dr. Allan Mucerino will continue to serve as Acting Superintendent, ensuring stable leadership and continuity of operations throughout this transition. We will continue to share relevant updates directly with all employees and families. Information will also be made available on our district website at www.pylusd.org/superintendentsearch.
