Eastview WIN Time on Wednesday Afternoons in the Learning Commons
Students can benefit from an opportunity for academic support every Wednesday afternoon from 2:40pm – 4:15pm in the Learning Commons. Students are supported to complete their schoolwork learning in a supervised setting. Faculty and staff are available along with upper-class peer tutors (especially skilled in Mathematics). Students will identify their priorities (“What I Need” or “What’s Important Now”), create a plan for the most efficient use of their time, celebrate their accomplishments, and leave with a plan for continued success. Students do not need to sign up in advance for WIN Time. We do ask that students plan to be there for the start at 2:40pm so they can benefit from the full support. We will keep a log of students and their engagement (arrival/departure time and their focus/work while they are there). Post High School Planning Kicks Off For Juniors
Last week marked an exciting milestone for our juniors as they began exploring their post-high school options. Our counseling team met with small groups of juniors to initiate the planning process for life after graduation.
During these small group sessions, counselors covered a wide range of topics to help juniors navigate the upcoming journey. From understanding college admissions requirements to exploring alternative paths like vocational training or military service, our students gained valuable insights.
To revisit the informative presentation slides, click on the links below:
Slide Deck 1: Ms. Jennings - Class of 2025 Spring Post High School Planning Presentation
Slide Deck 2: Class of 2025: Spring Post High School Planning Presentation Slides

ATHLETICS SCOREBOARD
My apologies for the lack of an update last week….lots of exciting things happening as we wrap up Winter Sports and Spring sports officially began yesterday….with a forecast calling for 65 degrees! Truly incredible.
Now, here are the latest updates on our Winter MSHSL Athletic Teams! For those of you looking to follow any of our teams a bit more closely here are your best resources: Follow @EVHSathletics on Twitter visit www.mshsl.org and click on “tournaments” for all of the post-season brackets, programs, ticket info etc.
Wrestling: Riley Myers captured her second individual STATE CHAMPIONSHIP at Xcel Center on March 2nd with an 11-0 win in the title match in the Girls 130 pound division. Elsie Olson also placed at State as she captured 5th place honors in the Girls 170 pound division. Congrats to both of these outstanding wrestlers!
Girls Basketball: After two big Section 3AAAA wins over Jefferson and Eagan the Lightning advanced to the Section Championship Game at Rosemount last Thursday. The girls got off to a hot shooting start and raced to an early lead before the Irish rallied to claim the Section Title and advance to state. Congrats to the entire team on a fantastic season!
CI and PI Hockey: Our Dakota Hawks teams both advanced to State this past weekend in Coon Rapids. The CI team pulled off a huge upset in the opening round as they defeated the #1 Seed from the North, Maple Grove, by a score of 9-6. After falling to a tough New Prague team in the Semis, the Hawks rallied to claim 3rd place in State with a 12-7 win over Stillwater. Lightning team members include Kyle Jacobson and Ada Kramer! The PI team won a convincing Quarterfinal 9-0 over St. Paul setting up a huge Semifinal vs. Brainerd. These two teams have developed quite the rivalry in recent years including playing in the State Championship game a year ago where the Hawks lost in OT. This one did not disappoint as the packed house in Coon Rapids was treated to an incredible game where the Hawks prevailed 5-4 in double OT! Exhausted from their effort, the Hawks had to turn around just hours later for the championship game, but they rode the momentum to a 5-1 victory over Robbinsdale to claim the STATE CHAMPIONSHIP! EV team members include Jae Bahma, Samantha Jordheim, Chloe Shibata and Will Warder. Bahma and Warder were both named to the All-Tournament team!
Boys Basketball: The boys basketball team pulled off two upset wins this past week in the Section 3AAAA playoffs over #3 Park 87-67 on Wednesday night and 73-63 over #2 Apple Valley on Friday night. They now advance to play at #1 Eagan on Thursday night for the Section Championship. The winner of this game will advance to the State Tournament at Target Center on March 20. Tickets are on sale at www.vancoevents.com/us/CJBA. Tickets are $10 adults and $5 students. A sellout crowd is expected so buy your tickets early if you plan to attend. No student ids/district badges/conference or region passes etc. will be accepted for admission.
Good luck to all of our teams and Go Lightning!
CLUB SPORTS
