Special Friends Day is almost here! Please look over the information below so you can plan your visit accordingly. This year, special visitors will get the opportunity to dine with their longhorn as well as visit the library and their longhorn's classroom. Special Friends Day will take place on Friday, September 20th. Please help us make this day as seamless as possible by making note of the following:

• EC & PK will arrive & sign in at 7:45 am. They will go to the cafeteria for breakfast followed by a visit to the classroom. Visitors will depart at 8:45 so the kids can go to recess/movement.

• Kindergarten will arrive & start signing in at 10:15 am. They will go to the classroom at 10:30 am for a room visit, followed by a 10:45am library time, and ending with an 11am lunch time. Visitors will depart at 11:30 am so the kids can go to specials.

• First grade will arrive & start signing in at 10:15 am. They will meet in the library at 10:30am for some activities, followed by a 10:45am classroom visit, and ending with an 11am lunch time. Visitors will depart at 11:30 am.

• Second grade will arrive & start signing in at 11:15 am. They will go to the cafeteria at 11:30 am for lunch, followed by a classroom visit at 12:00pm, and ending with a 12:15pm library time. Visitors will depart at 12:30pm.

• Third grade will arrive & start signing in at 11:15 am. They will go to the cafeteria at 11:30 am for lunch, followed by a library time at 12:00pm, and ending with a 12:15pm classroom visit. Visitors will depart at 12:30pm.

• Fourth grade will arrive & start signing in at 11:45 am. They will go to the cafeteria at 12 pm for lunch, followed by a library time at 12:30pm, and ending with a 12:45pm classroom visit. Visitors will depart at 1:00pm.

• Fifth grade will arrive & start signing in at 12:15 pm. They will go to the classroom at 12:30pm for a room visit, followed by a 12:45pm library time, and ending with a 1pm lunch time. Visitors will depart at 1:30pm so the kids can go to recess.

This form will close on Wednesday, September 18th at 8:00am.

Texas Health and Safety Code requires all children enrolled for the first time in any public school and at certain grade intervals to be screened or have a professional examination for possible vision and hearing problems. Nurse Katie will conduct these screenings at Lakeside. Parents will only be notified if screening results indicate the need for further evaluation.

This year we will be reaching out regularly to discuss your child's attendance.

• In some cases you will be reminded of the state expectations for attendance.
• In other cases we will be inviting you and your child to a "Lunch with your Longhorn" and perfect attendance prize.

We will be awarding Perfect Attendance bracelets during our quarterly rallies as well.
