Dear Parents, Guardians, and Students,

As we approach Thanksgiving, we want to take a moment to express our gratitude for you. Thank you for being an essential part of our BRMES community - you truly make it special.

With Thanksgiving break here and the chill of winter here, we hope you're gearing up for some well-deserved rest and relaxation. Take some time over the break to gear up for the winter as these kids spend a lot of time outside! Please remind your child to bring all 5 essential winter items when they come back:

👖 Snow Pants

🧤 Gloves

🧣 Hat

👢 Boots

If your child needs any of these winter items, please reach out to our wonderful Counselor, Mr. Davydov, at ydavydov@mdsd.org. We have many great donations and are happy to help! 😊

We also recommend that students bring a spare pair of 👟 shoes to wear inside so their boots can dry out during the school day.

Snow Days Ahead?

With the snowy weather here, please make sure we have your most current phone numbers and email addresses on file. This will ensure you receive timely updates from our automated calling/texting/email systems in case of weather-related delays or closures.

In an ideal situation, the MDSD and Harlow's will make a decision by 6:30 AM with either a:

1. ❄️ Snow Day (School is cancelled for the day).

OR

1. ❄️ 2-Hour Delay (Buses will pick up 2 hours later than normal, and school will start at 10:05 AM instead of 8:05 AM. Dismissal remains the same at 3:00 PM).

Thank you to everyone who donated to our annual Food Drive. The 5th Grade Kindness & Spirit Team has been so excited to count and gather all of the items and make it a classroom competition too! We will happily take it to the local food bank when we return after Thanksgiving.

Help show our community how much we care for each other.

We have teamed up with our local McCall community as a school to sponsor several local children this holiday season. If you are looking for a way to help a local family, stop by to choose a wish list item from our giving tree. You may also drop off any Cram the Van gifts to our office as well. Deadline for the Giving Tree wishes or any Cram the Van gifts are due in our BRMES office by December 13th.

This year's student-made Holiday Food & Craft Fair is on Wednesday, December 4, from 3:30-5pm in the BRMES gym. Family/friends/community members encouraged to come shop and support our students!

We want to show the BRMES staff our appreciation for the work they do with our kids all year long! Consider signing up for monthly treats (drinks and chocolates) to keep their lounge stocked! Sign up to donate here.

The Students-Kids-Youth (SKY) Pass is a free, year-round pass providing summer and winter lift and meadows access at Tamarack Resort, created to encourage outdoor recreation and love of our home mountain for local students. The SKY Pass is available to any K-12 student enrolled in a public, private, or charter school located in Valley County (including all schools within the McCall-Donnelly and Cascade School District boundaries) or Meadows Valley School District.

Pick up your pass at Tamarack Outfitters in The Village or stop by the McCall downtown office with Proof of enrollment at BRMES and primary physical residence is required to claim the SKY Pass. The Powerschool App works great for this verification. Student must be present.

In coordination with the “Every Kid Outdoors” program, fourth-graders who are participating in the Every Kid Outdoors program can receive a free Christmas tree permit. The U.S. Forest Service is among several federal agencies that support the Every Kid Outdoors initiative which is a nationwide call to action to build the next generation of outdoor enthusiasts. The initiative provides a free pass to all fourth-grade students who first go to this link and complete the application process for a pass, print the pass and follow the instructions. If utilizing the online system at recreation.gov, enter the pass number when prompted.

Do you have a BRMES 5th grade student? Take advantage of a local benefit by getting your 5th grade child a FREE SEASON PASS.

Follow the link below or scan the QR code to complete the pass information.

Once submitted, Brundage will send out a final liability waiver to the parent/guardian email to be completed before the pass can be redeemed.

The deadline for submitting this ONLINE form is Tuesday, December 17th, 2024. Passes cannot be processed after that time.
