This book is about an old lady who swallowed a clover. After she swallowed a clover, she swallowed a daisy, then a butterfly, then a bird, then a pot, then some gold, and lastly a fiddle. After she swallowed the fiddle, everything came out of her and a rainbow was formed.

Kindergarten Kickoff

STEAM Night @ GBEEC-Legacy
Parents as Teachers is teaming up with the wonderful GBEEC Legacy staff to host another STEAM night. STEAM night is a fun night of activities focused on science, technology, engineering, art, and math. This event is intended for children 2+, but all ages are welcome. Any families participating in Parents as Teachers or attending a classroom at GBEEC-Legacy are welcome to join.
Thursday, March 20th from 5:30-7:00 at Great Beginnings Early Education Center (GBEEC)-Legacy.
Hugo's Party
Join us on March 25th from 6:30-7:30 at Lee's Summit High School to celebrate the community-wide book reading of Hugo and the Impossible Thing. There will be family fun with interactive activities, treats, and a photo booth! 2025 National Poison Prevention Weekis March 16-22, 2025
In 2025, National Poison Prevention Week will take place March 16-22, 2025. The theme is “When the unexpected happens, Poison Help is here for you.” Whether you have general questions or an emergency, Poison Help is available 24/7/365 at no cost to you. Call Poison Help with questions for medications, cleaning products, insect bites, and food poisoning, just to name a few!
Conscious Discipline Corner
We learn the skill of empathy by experiencing empathy. Many parents will have limited experience with empathy so it is important to take every opportunity to offer it to them. They cannot teach a skill they do not possess. Check out the video below on how to handle those moments of upset using empathy.
