Principal's Message
Greeting families,
I hope you are having a great weekend.
We will return to our regular schedule tomorrow after an unintended week of school closure. On behalf of my staff, I thank you for the message of support I received Thursday and Friday. We genuinely appreciate it. I apologize for sending many updates during that time, as the information was pretty fluid.
I want to remind you that Youth Conversion will begin their before and after school services this week. Please refer to my email with all enrollment resources and frequently asked questions. I included the information in the "resources you can use section" of the newsletter for easy reference. Please, enroll today if you have not done it yet.
Also, this week our students will be working on making Valentine's cards for the hospital. This community outreach activity will help us shape our scholars' character. PTO is asking for any families willing to create some of these cards at home, to contact them. Please, see the PTO section of this newsletter for more information.
Remember, they will host a virtual meeting on February 9th at 6:00 PM. They will share more information via their newsletter.
Last, this week will celebrate our 100 days of school, and I cannot wait to see our scholars engage in our celebration.
If you have questions or comments, please do not hesitate and ask.
Thanks for choosing us!
Kind Regards,
Roberto Gonzalez

Hello families!
We are very excited and hopefully you have seen the flyer (attached) about Biomed Prep’s inaugural student service project: creating handmade Valentine’s cards for inpatients and staff at UTSW/Clements University Hospital. We hope that these cards will provide some sunshine and happiness to patients, as well as joy in our children for creating something special for someone else. Patients will receive a card on their meal tray.
Students will be making cards at school this coming week. Each card will have a sticker on it to signify that a student created it.
We must have all cards by Friday morning February 10th for delivery to the hospital for distribution on Valentine’s Day. There are currently about 800 patients at Clements, so the more cards we can make, the better!
How you can be involved?
- Talk with your child about this project: the concept of volunteering, giving to others, and making someone’s day better
· Partner with your student and make a few Valentines at home, then they can bring them into their teacher. Take pictures of your artist and their creations and post them on our Facebook page or send them to us (EMAIL)
o We are collaborating with the Patient and Family Services group at Clements. They requested to use generic positive greetings such as “Hope your day is bright” “Have a good day today” and “Thinking of you/sending good wishes” and to please avoid statements such as “Get well soon” as that may not be appropriate for every patient.
· Help us sustain this project! We would like this to be an ongoing service project and continue to create general cards for patients and staff. We would love donations of stickers, paper, foam stickers, etc, or cash to PTO and we will purchase.

T-Mobile Internet Hot Spots
To provide our students with internet connectivity, we were asked to review the need for our student’s internet access. Dallas ISD has partnered with T-Mobile to offer hotspots to support our students’ internet access at home. The hotspots will be activated under T-Mobile’s Education plan, which includes free mobile internet with content filtering. All content accessible via this hotspot will pass through a content filter that blocks access to inappropriate content and complies with the Children’s Internet Protection Act (CIPA).
These hotspots must be returned at the end of the 2022- 2023 school year. Once you submit your request, we will share additional information about hotspot student request distribution.
Please, complete this form by February 7th, 2023, if you are interested in getting one.
Uniform Policy
Please, remember to review our uniform policy. If possible, allow your children to wear tennis shoes as they do physical activity during the day, which can result in injuries if the child is not wearing appropriate shoes.
Also, remember the colors to wear on the pants, shorts, skirts, and jumpers.
Thank you so much for your help

Digital Library Resources
We want to share these digital resources with you. Unfortunately, we have yet to get access to some resources as we do not have a librarian, but I am working on it. Please email me if you need help with any resources.

Note: Your child's teacher can provide a district ID number.

Social and Emotional Learning (S.E.L)
We are proud to be a campus that works in Social and Emotional practices with our students. Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) builds the skills, knowledge, and attitudes that both students and adults need to be successful in school, work, and life. They include things such as knowing and controlling your emotions, teamwork, understanding others, making positive choices, and resilience.
There are four signature practices that the school follows:
Morning Meetings
Mood Meter
Respect Agreements
Calming Corners
If you want to know more about our signature practices click HERE
Breathing Strategy of the Week
Last week we practiced Buzzing Bee Breathing as our SEL focus on the Morning Announcements. Practice this breathing strategy at home when your child needs a moment to calm down or refocus.
S.E.L Home connections
As you may have heard, flu cases have spiked and many urgent care centers as well as ER departments are overwhelmed with the surge of RSV and respiratory illnesses. Many schools are also experiencing an excessive number of absences. By partnering with Children’s Health School-Based Telehealth they can offer your students easy and convenient access to health care in both school and home settings.
Through the School Telehealth program, they also offer flu and strep testing, at no additional cost to families. The school nurses deliver the tests during the telehealth exam.
