We’ve had a wonderful first full week of school. Our teachers are thrilled with their new students, and the kids have been actively engaged in their learning. We’re incredibly grateful for the support from our families and community. It was fantastic meeting so many of you at Open House last night. We’re looking forward to a positive and successful school year ahead!

Upcoming Events:

• Mandatory Parent Meeting for Raider Athletes: Monday at 6:00 p.m. in the Auditorium.
• SIC Meeting: Join us at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday in the Media Center for the first School Improvement Council meeting of the year.

• Laptop Deployment: We will continue with laptop distribution. If you haven’t yet paid the $20 technology fee, you can send it to school or pay online.

• MAP Testing: ELA- Tuesday, 8/27 & Math- Thursday, 8/29 (All grades)

Reminders:

• School Start Time: 8:15 a.m. Supervision begins at 7:45 a.m.
• Drop-Off Location: Car riders should be dropped off at the back of the school.
• Student Supervision: Staff will assist students from buses and cars to their grade-level hallways.
• Afternoon Dismissal: Please let your child know whether they will be a car rider or bus rider in the afternoon so we can direct them accordingly. Do not park in the Northwestern parking lot (near the baseball field) to wait for RRMS sttudents.

8th grade Science students learned the steps of the scientific method this week. They ended the week in the lab discovering which brand of dish soap will blow the biggest bubbles. Students made a hypothesis and applied the scientific method to the bubble lab activity.

Throughout August, National Wellness Month is all about self-care, stress management, and healthy routines. Self-care involves understanding why you think, feel, and behave in certain ways. By incorporating wholesome habits into your daily life, you can experience a significant improvement in your well-being. Self-care is a powerful tool for managing stress and promoting happiness, helping you feel better both physically and mentally.
