Voter Registration Week
Governor Whitmer has declared Voter Registration Week this week.
In 2023, Governor Whitmer signed House Bill 4569 into law, which allows future Michigan voters to pre-register to vote when they turn 16 years old. This pre-registration enables eligible voters to vote as soon as they turn 18. To use this pre-registration process, a person must be at least 16 years old but not older than 17 and-a-half years old. If you pre-register, you can participate in early in-person or absentee voting for an election as long as you will be 18 on or before the date of the election. Those eligible to vote who are already older than 17.5 years old, were previously allowed to register under MI law.

MiABLE - Encourages Those With Disabilities to Open an Account
MiABLE account owners lead by example to inspire others to open disability savings accounts
In recognition of the 34th anniversary of the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) in July, the Michigan Department of Treasury enlisted the help of MiABLE account owners in its ongoing campaign to encourage others with disabilities to open their own MiABLE savings accounts.
"Just as the ADA has provided legal security and equality of opportunity for people with disabilities for more than three decades, MiABLE continues to open the door for financial security and opportunity for people with disabilities and their families," said R. Scott de Varona, MiABLE program director. "MiABLE benefits thousands of Michiganders every day, and the best testimonial for opening a MiABLE account comes from the people who already have seen what it can do for their financial freedom."
For more information or to open a MiABLE account, go to the MiABLE website at: https://savewithable.com/mi/home.html
