Please join us for an afternoon for seniors and their mother figures to celebrate their upcoming graduation. There will be tea, treats, activities and a guest speaker. Tickets will be on sale at the bookkeeping office before and after school and during lunch prior to the event.

• Date: Friday, May 10
• Time: 1 p.m.
• Cost: $30 per family at the bookkeeper's office or $35 at the door per family.

There is a Sports Preview Night on Monday, May 13 at 7 p.m. in the Commons. Come talk with coaches and meet players from all the different teams.

Fall Sports sign-up on Final Forms starts May 1, 2024. Go to the Glacier Peak website or click this link. To participate in any summer practices or camps athletes must have a current physical. The physical lasts for two years. Please DO NOT send a hard copy. Please take a photo or scan it, then upload it into Final Forms. There are a few documents that require electronic signatures from parents and athletes. You can select multiple sports if you are unsure which ones to participate in.

Glacier Peak High School cheer is an athletic leadership activity, not just a club! Our cheerleaders bring leadership and excitement during assemblies, school events and our sporting events. The cheer season runs May through March and does include mandatory summer practices, camp, and events. Click here for more information and how to fill out the required paperwork. The cheer packet and final forms are due Monday, May 13, 2024.

Glacier Peak High School’s competitive dance team is selected by a tryout process in May of the previous school year. These students are advanced dancers who are committed to expanding their technique, knowledge and professionalism in a range of dance styles, including hip-hop, jazz and pom. Click here for the Dance Packet. The Dance packet is to be filled out and returned to the Main office or to Coach Tracy by May 21 in order to try out on May 22.

Dates and times for the 2024 - 2025 tryouts:

• Monday, May 20: Audition Clinic - Day 1 - Aux Gym, 3:30-5:30 p.m.
• Tuesday, May 21: Audition Clinic - Day 2 - Aux Gym, 3:30-5:30 p.m.
• Wednesday, May 22: Dance Team Auditions - Aux Gym, 3:30-5:30 p.m.

SBA Math testing is Wednesday, May 1

• Students should check in for testing at 7:30 a.m. at their assigned location
• Juniors & Seniors: Please check the lists posted at school outside the bookkeeping office, to see if you need to take this test.
• Room assignments are posted around the school, Main office, Commons and Counselling
• Bring laptops (charged) and your power cord
• No adjustments to the bell schedule
• Students will be excused to their classes when they finish
• Students will be able to break for their regular scheduled lunch, then return to testing
• Make-up testing will be offered in the library on May 2nd

ORCA is a running start college experience for high school students. Applications are due on May 1 and require three essays and a letter of recommendation. Please see the EvCC website for more information on the program and the open house.

AP test takers: Please come to the cafeteria during Grizzly Period on Tuesday, April 30 for a required pre–AP test meeting. If you are unable to attend this important pre-meeting, please see Ms. Berry in the main office.

Juniors! You are encouraged to attend one of the the Spring PNACAC College Fairs. The Snohomish County PNACAC fair will be Thursday, April 25 from 5:30-8 p.m. at WSU Everett Campus. The Seattle Fair will be Saturday, April 27 9-12 p.m. at Seattle University. Please see each fair link for registration information, and a list of participating colleges and universities.

Sno-Isle TECH Skills Center summer school is returning for another year! This is a free opportunity for all incoming district 9th-12th grade students. The programs available are a fun, condensed version of the year-long program allowing students to preview what it would be like being a Sno-Isle TECH student. Students can also earn .5 high school elective credits upon successful completion to help work towards graduation requirements.

The summer school program will run from June 24-July 12 (with July 4/5 off) during the hours of 7:30 a.m.-3:15 p.m. Transportation is not provided for summer school, and students will need to provide their own transportation to and from the Sno-Isle TECH campus. During the program students will be provided with lunch and a snack.

Registration for summer school will open Monday, April 15, at 9 a.m. Register at www.snoisletech.com under “Resources” and then “Summer School.” Registration will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Programs will fill quickly!

Programs that will be available include:

• Animation

• Auto tech/auto body (combined)

• Criminal justice

• Culinary arts

• Early childhood education

Grad-night Party Team - Looking for a fun opportunity to help plan your kiddo’s grad night party? Do we have an opportunity for you! We need at a minimum 4 volunteers to set this team up. (No team, no party – this is not something the parent org organizes.) We are looking for a grad night team to form, by May 1, so that the Parent Org can get you set up before the end of the school year. PM at the Peak is an opportunity for students to get specific support in their classes. It is not simply a ‘study hall’. While students are welcome to use the time to study and work independently, it is designed to provide students an opportunity to ask for, and receive help from teachers on their homework, essays, or use the computers.

To maintain accurate attendance records we would like to provide these helpful reminders and tips for reporting an absence, a late arrival or request for an early dismissal. Choose from one of the four easy ways to report absences.

• Call the attendance line 360-563-7505

• Enter a request in Family Access/Skyward
• Email gph-attendance@sno.wednet.edu
• A written note signed by a parent/guardian or medical/dental provider.
• Please provide your student's first and last name, the date of the absence and a reason for the absence. Please spell the name if needed.
• An absence will be considered excused when we receive notification from a parent or legal guardian in the attendance office within 48 hours of the absence.
