There is so much to celebrate across our district. I encourage you to soak in these special moments and savor all the “lasts” that make this time of year so memorable. Our schools are filled with the joy of accomplishment and the excitement of what’s to come—especially for our graduating seniors.

Valencia High School Honors Fallen Heroes at 41st Annual Memorial Day Ceremony
On Friday, May 23, Valencia High School (VHS) held its 41st Annual Memorial Day Ceremony, paying tribute to the United States military personnel who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.
Yorba Linda City Council Recognizes Esperanza High School Wrestling Team and Holocaust Art and Writing Contest Finalist
On Tuesday, May 20, the Yorba Linda City Council recognized the outstanding achievements of local student leaders during its regularly scheduled meeting. Among those recognized were the Esperanza High School wrestling team and the five student finalist from Chapman University’s 25th Annual Holocaust Art and Writing Contest.
Over 375 Students Participate in Annual Middle School Track Meet in Partnership with REACH Foundation
On Wednesday, May 7, 2025, the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD) hosted its annual Middle School Track Meet at Nathan Shapell Memorial Stadium, located on the campus of Yorba Linda High School. This signature event, which receives annual support from the REACH Foundation, brought together approximately 375 student-athletes from six district middle schools to participate in a variety of athletic competitions, including high jump, long-distance running, long jump, sprints, and other track and field events. Participating schools included the OCSCS Matadors, Kraemer Cubs, Travis Ranch Trailblazers, Tuffree Falcons, Valadez Eagles, and Yorba Linda Bobcats.
Kraemer Middle School, Tynes, Morse, and Ruby Drive Elementary Unite for Inaugural Joint Production of The Wizard of Oz
In spring 2025, students from Kraemer Middle School, Ruby Drive Elementary, Tynes Elementary, and Morse Elementary participated in a historic collaboration by staging their first-ever joint theatrical production, The Wizard of Oz. This unprecedented initiative brought together young performers from across the four campuses, highlighting the artistic talents of students within the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD) and establishing a promising new tradition in the district’s arts programming.
El Camino Real High School Hosts Inaugural Family Night to Foster Community Engagement
On Wednesday, May 14, El Camino Real High School hosted its inaugural Family Night, welcoming approximately 80 students and family members to campus for an evening of community building and celebration. The event featured a complimentary BBQ dinner served by the school’s office staff, a diverse selection of games, and a designated space showcasing student work alongside a slideshow highlighting key moments and activities from the academic year.
